quinnearlysghost88 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 If this has been discussed please disregard. I am wondering about the rules with hitting Tyrod after he has thrown the ball and/or handed off. I feel like there were 3-4 instances where he took a shot that, if another older, more accomplished QB would've taken, a flag would've been thrown. I realize with him running an option style that he is considered a 'runner,' in some instances and therefore isn't granted the QB late hit considerations, but yesterday kind of felt like open season. With all of the penalties that surround the game and how much they change the tides, I would really appreciate the NFL/refs releasing reports for the prior week's game, along with justification for their calls.

IMO there was one legit no call because on that particular play the Bills were running a reverse action with Harvin and the Giants defender had no idea whether Tyrod still had the ball or not. I agree on that one, but the one where they picked up the flag because the defender was "pushed" was absurd. If that is Brady back there the defender probably does jail time.

I remember 1 no call late hit on Tyrod with a ref right there. No need to say what would have happened if the QB was named Brady**
Mr. WEO Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 In 2014, the Bills had 2 roughing the passers called against them and 6 called for them (tied for 2nd most). NE had 4 called against them and 2 called for them (tied for 3rd least).

He releases the ball in under 2.0 seconds. The instances of defenders getting to him is infrequent. Of course we had more roughing calls. We had Orton triple patting the ball and EJ half sliding-half diving every play.
