iinii Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Nothing. This is my Sunday distraction and my weekly hobby, but I gave up on being mad about it in 2006 after I had my first child. If they cant get their collective S together then that's on them. Morons. yesterday, I watched my son make it to the sixth ring on the monkey bars! TOUCHDOWN! glanced at my phone every so often to see what was going on and was glad I hadn't bothered. I am not watching a game until we beat the Pats......unless I go to the Titans game this week!
hondo in seattle Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I'm mad at myself for getting caught up in the hype and believing the Bills would make the playoffs this year. Maybe they will. Maybe they won't. But my belief that they were a playoff team makes these losses harder to stomach.
8-8 Forever? Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 The ridiculously conservative game plan on offense after a fairly wide open and explosive game on offense last week. I realize Sammy wasn't playing but how many times did they go run run pass punt today? The defense though is the most disappointing and frustrating. I hv no idea what Rex and he defensive coaches are doing. There is no need to be crazy exotic when you have the talent this defense has, just line up and let them play. I really miss Schwartz Monday is so much fun. everyone goes nuts. my only regret is running home to watch that stuff and not finishing my 18 holes....
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 What he says publicly vrs behind closed doors very likely are two different things. One of the things that has been stated many times is that Rex always has the players backs. This is one of them, he's going to try and deflect the blame from them and claim they did nothing wrong. It's not going to get any better when you have a coach who doesn't see anything wrong with it
PO16FFS Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Monday is so much fun. everyone goes nuts. my only regret is running home to watch that stuff and not finishing my 18 holes.... Its always worse right after the loss. Monday is grumpy, then Tuesday we fall in love with our Team all over again!
FloridaSnow Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 If Bradham makes that tackle, the tone around the team is incredibly different (and much less hysterical). The score would have been closer (I think we would have won it outright) and the especially terrible penalties wouldn't have happened.
stevestojan Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 If Bradham makes that tackle, the tone around the team is incredibly different (and much less hysterical). The score would have been closer (I think we would have won it outright) and the especially terrible penalties wouldn't have happened. Exactly. For all intents and purposes we got destroyed yesterday. But Bradham makes that tackle and 50/50 we win. We played one of the worst games in the history of the game (hyperbole, sure) and still had a shot. I'm not giving up quite yet. Oh and the Giants run defense is incredible. Let's not forget that.
Alphadawg7 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) What makes me the most mad: The over reaction of this board and the bi-polar fan base. Thats what makes me the most mad. If things go right, this team is amazing. The first hiccup and the wheels are falling off and everyone should be cut and fired. I mean literally after the second 3 and out the shout box was attacking Clay (a guy the same people were going nuts over with excitement last week) because he came up 1 yard short on those 3rd down plays. I mean this is the NFL people, you are not going to win every possession...there are professional football players at all times on the other side of the ball being paid a ton of money to stop you from scoring or score against you. Taylor is the most promising QB we have had since Kelly both visually and statistically. This kid responded to a stale first half with a great 2nd half constantly moving the ball. A pathetic miss by Carpenter, and a couple of bad penalties (that in my opinion were BS) changed the outcome of the game, but it didn't change that this kid can ball. He made two spectacular TD's on 2 different drives that were taken away by penalties (again that I think were BS calls) unrelated to the outcome of the play. If those dumb penalties DONT happen, this kid is Jesus Christ himself on these boards today for leading us to a comeback win. But because they did happen, all of a sudden there are threads trashing the kid, questioning his ability to make throws, etc etc. People are even upset he's calm? Give me a break. This is a young team...this is a team thats angry for wins. They have played undisciplined and overly emotional because of it...and yes the coaching staff needs to fix that and is responsible for getting this teams head on right. But overall, this team looks dangerous moving forward. You guys want to crap on the coaching staff too...well you are also completely ignoring some things yesterday. This team made great adjustments at the half. The D stepped up and shut them down with the exception of the missed tackles of the Jennings play, and that was the players dumb mistake, not the coaching staff. The offense moved the ball at will. Carpenter missing a gimme changed the whole complexity...there is no 4th and 1 attempt if Carpenter makes that kick because we kick a FG to make it a 7 point game instead. So, instead of coming away with zero points on those 2 trips, we should have at least 6 if not for Carpenters shank. So while the coaching staff MUST get better on making these guys more disciplined, there were still positives from this game from both the players and staff. We can easily be sitting 5-2 come 3 weeks from now and this team is more than talented enough to do it. PS: Keep in mind our QB, in his 4th start, played on a bum ankle, without his 2 best OL, his best RB, and his best WR. His INT was the fault of Clay, not him, and he had two spectacular TD's stolen from him in the 2nd half. This kid also battled back against NE and the 2nd half yesterday. if you cant see that this kids future is significantly trending upward, then maybe those people shouldn't be evaluating QB's. MDH Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I don't know if it's the thing that makes me the most mad, but I hate it when my wife hangs her bras to dry on the door handles all over the house because she doesn't want to run them through the dryer and its easier than putting them on hangers. For some reason it annoys me to no end. Wait...is this the right thread for this?
LA Grant Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 It's not losing that makes me mad, it's HOW they are losing that drives me crazy. What makes me the most mad is these are CORRECTABLE problems, which would give me hope instead of anger, if the coach and players seemed more committed to correcting those. Maybe they are genuinely committed to fixing their attitudes, but from what we can see with how they carried themselves on the field and how they present themselves to the media, they do not seem to totally get it. The media coverage is correct that right now we're not seeing accountability from the team, we're seeing excuses. And Kyle Williams is also right, this is going to be a self-fulfilling prophecy; they're developing a reputation as dirty, so the refs are going to be looking for it, which leads to even more ticky tacky borderline calls, on top of the ridiculous personal fouls that need to stop immediately. In other words — they're playing dirty and dumb. That's what makes me mad, even more than losing.
MDH Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 It's not losing that makes me mad, it's HOW they are losing that drives me crazy. I've said this a million times to myself but then I realized that I'm just as pissed when they lose a close, competitive game. Nobody ever thinks their team played well in a loss so the idea that the "other team was just better" never really occurs to most fans - me included.
BillsFanThru-N-Thru Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 The thing that made me the maddest is even though they played terrible throughout most of the game they scored and were down by only 6. A touchdown could win it for you, so all the Defense has to do is stop them and give it back to your Offense. And what happens!?!?! you let Jennings score a 51 yd touchdown on a 3rd and 3. Bradham makes that tackle we get the ball back.
FLFan Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Explain the end of the half, please. I think it is up to you to explain the ridiculous premise of your post. Enlighten us with the basis for your conspiracy theory please.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Missed tackles. Giants yards after contact was crazy yesterday. Very uncharacteristic of how the defense has played this season. Probably a sign that the team pretty much phoned it in prior to kickoff.

Great post. Thanks for being the voice of reason. I am mad because I will have to avoid the media coverage and this board for the better part of the week until all the angst works itself out a bit. Rationality generally returns in enough quantity by Friday to make bills news and discussion tolerable again. Cheers. Go Bills!
dpberr Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 What bothers me most is that four weeks into the season, the coaching staff has utterly failed to teach and instill discipline into their players. I'm real tired of Jerry Hughes and his personal fouls.
mabden Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 The thing that makes you the most mad... (About the Giants Game) Preventable Penalties, ones like lining up over center on field goals. Unprofessional Behavior, like punching opposing players and/or refs. Bad Offensive Game Plan, especially poor play calls in the red zone. One Sack, by a guy not making tens of millions of dollars,
Best Player Available Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Putting a 32 year old DT in pass coverage seemed odd. Why was Schwartz's scheme completely shredded? because it worked or ego? The Bills are 18th in sacks this season. yea it's only at the quarter mark, but is this a trend? is Ryan completely in control of the defense? or is Thurman clueless against good competition? I hope Whaley is having O-line players heavily scouted this season. Since there is a chance the team may be out of QB Purgatory. screw this kick off specialist philosophy it wastes a active roster spot. The Bills had 1 count them 1 running back yesterday worth a crap. And for the most part he was contained since he except for once or twice ran between the tackles. Our special teams suck. Now that Maroon is gone Crossman returns to what he is a crap coach.
SactoBillFan Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) Having a 1 - 2 home record is not the sign of a playoff team. The team was flat and probably overconfident along with being stupid with some of the penalties. Edited October 5, 2015 by SactoBillFan
Wagon Circler Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 A lot of feelings after this game. When Thigpen fair-caught the ball at the six, didn't Crossman go to him and tell him not to do that. If he did, when Thigpen did it again, he should be benched. I lost it when he did it again. This team plays stupid. The fourth down pass was a rediculous call. You are at the one and a half yard line. You through a one yard pass? Can't throw into the end zone from inside the two? How many third down completions yesterday short of the sticks, including the first two possessions? Second possession= one yard pass on third and three! Roman is coaching too conservative. When he opens it up, we start moving the ball. I knew going in that we would not run the ball well. The Giants were giving up 3.4 yards a carry. Stuck with it even though it was obviously not working. Biggest issue is crappy pass rush this year from front four. I don't know if it's scheme or what. Not there like it was last two years. When we hired Rex, my first thought was,"at least the defense will be good". No showed against New England and in first half yesterday. Penalties: Tell your team that the next guy who takes a personal foul is on the bench for the rest of the game and stick to it. Sometimes even a player's coach has to come down on his team. This is ridiculous.
