which would be a reasonable argument if there were any other NFL team close in penalties: http://www.nflpenalties.com. since the ST penalties have been disproportionally high it follows that we're near or at the worst there as well.

So, we're bad. ST are not the biggest problem this team has, but, if it makes people feel better to have an escape goat then have at it, fire Crossman NOW!!!

totally outplayed all season. as a percentage of plays they must be the most penalized. it cost us momentum and points on both offense and defense. if he has any pride he falls on his sword tomorrow. plenty of blame to go around but this is a consistent area of suckitude.

 things might be different if he was the only one. The #4 defense from last year is now ranked 30th, and only has 7 sacks. Mostly because the new DC would rather send his highly paid pass rushers into pass coverage

He was good last season not sure what's going on

I can tell you whats going on. This head coach isn't spending extra time or extra active players helping special teams this year, and it looks like he is just as bad as he was in his first season in Buffalo.

He's not a mid season fire but hes been a low quality coach for a decade

If we fire everyone and cut everyone and don't pay any of the good players because they cost too much, surely we will win next week, yo. You guys are funny. We should only cut Mulligan, obviously. And Duke.

I think every punt should be a fair catch. The idea that a return will be successful without a penalty is a dream these days.

But even then, they will probably find something during the kick to call

The Bills should petition the league to just have them start at their one on every punt without the other team having to punt it.....

yeah. it's that bad. but are the officials to blame, the players or the coaches?

you fix things that you can relatively easily fix. are there people with better coaching pedigrees or higher upside than crossman available? no idea but if there aren't then the field of ST coaching is wide open for mildly talented humans.

The guy covering the center is egregious to the max. How could they line up in a clearly illegal front?

I hate to beat the drum of the ref's but usually the ref taps the defender if he's covering the center...why not today?

The video of the refs doing this in a game last year (NE vs Jets) went viral, the league's response was that it was a common practice to avoid calling a penalty.

Of all the penalties, that's the most inexcusable. It's the rule now, you know every special teams coach is aware of it and practiced it (that is, not having a lineman line up over center) all preseason. And I haven't seen it called all year because no team is dumb enough to do it. Except the Bills, today, and it wasn't even disguised (like a guy in the gap -- he was right directly over the ball, a no brainer flag). Cost us 4 points right there since the Giants took it right in. That and the missed Carpenter field goal and you've got 7 points. Add in the fact that they would have kicked a FG rather than going for it late if they had those 7 points, and in a very real way special teams gaffes/poor execution cost us 10 points minimum.

That is dumbfounding. If he were fired tomorrow, I'd bet we could vote in one of use to do just as well, given a choice with a little experience and a week of studying up. THAT was inexcusable.

This is the worst I have seen our ST in years. Seems like the players are trying so hard not to get a penalty they stopped blocking people. I agree, they need to make a change here.
