billsfan_34 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) And who replaces him? Maybe we can scour South American soccer players. The ship has sailed theres no one. But isnt it great we have 2 kickers on game day? Edited October 5, 2015 by billsfan_34
zow2 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Also, for Rex I think it goes against every fiber of his being to keep two kickers on his game day roster. That's why he's extra hard on Carpenter. You have ONE job.
papazoid Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 carpenter is not healthy......when healthy he is a great kicker. Â there is no one better at this time, you will be taking a step backwards if you cut him. turn your attention to replacing urbik.
YoloinOhio Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 @MikeGarafolo: Is the new extra point messing with kickers' heads? @jayfeely + @lt4kicks say yes in our @NFLonFOX Six Points column: http://t.co/fXFzHiXAbp
dave mcbride Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 From peter king's column today:  • Kickers now fail, just like real people. PATs missed in 256 games last year: eight. PATs missed in 62 games this year, with the scrimmage line moved back 13 yards: 17. This was a particularly brutal weekend, with 10 kicks missed from 40 yards and in (six field goals, four extra points). Missing two on Thursday night cost Josh Scobee his job in Pittsburgh, and don’t be surprised to see rookie Kyle Brindza, who missed five in the past two Bucs games, walk the plank in Tampa. I think the trend has to do with the youth at the position—12 of 32 teams are using kickers in their first years with their teams—and the mental game the longer PAT has forced kickers to deal with. Kickers are lottery tickets. You just pick one and pray.
xsoldier54 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 me thinks the Bucs may cut a kicker very soon. That Aside, this carrying a kick off specialist. and a kicker who sucked in pre season and since, needs some FO attention. I really would hate to see a 40+ yarder needed with a game on the line and Carpenter the kicker. The dude does not inspire confidence. His mojo is gone. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â IMO Actually he's pretty good on the longer kicks. It seems to be the shorter ones that are giving him trouble.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Think back and ask yourself honestly, how many kicks just made it in last season across the league? Â Now subtract 2 feet on each side and you have to expect the % of missed kicks increase. Â Â Narrowed from 18 feet to 14 feet this season. The purpose here is to make teams go for 2 or go for broke. It adds excitement to the game. What was automatic before needs work now.
Fadingpain Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Most Missed FGs in a Week since 2010: Â Week 10, 2011: 19 missesWeek 2, 2013: 17 missesWeek 12, 2012: 16Week 9: 2012: 16Week 16, 2014: 15Week 17, 2012: 15Week 16, 2011: 15Week 4, 2015: 14Week 10, 2010: 14Week 3, 2010: 14
jr1 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I just don't understand how the same guy can make a 51 yarder and miss a 30 yarder
jumbalaya Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Is carpenter afraid of Rex or just decided to suck this year?
dpberr Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 What happened to all the good kickers in the NFL? Â I wouldn't cut Dan Carpenter but I would give him the time he needs to get the leg healthy. As someone said - he's a great kicker *when* healthy.
Coastie Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 jumbalaya, on 05 Oct 2015 - 10:08 AM, said I just don't understand how the same guy can make a 51 yarder and miss a 30 yarder  Same way when I am bowling I may pick up a 5-7 split then miss a 4 pin.

I had no freakin idea that the goal posts had been narrowed from 18 feet to 14 feet, IN ADDITION to moving the line of scrimmage back 13 yards....holy crap!!!
klos63 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I just don't understand how the same guy can make a 51 yarder and miss a 30 yarder really?
billykaykay Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Neither are your posts or prognostications. Can we cut you? Â Imo This.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 @TyDunne As for Dan Carpenter, Ryan called him "a pro" and said "we'll see how it goes" when asked if he'll be bringing in kickers.
LA Grant Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Kickers are struggling all over. Carpenter has not been reliable so far this year, but he's still the best option right now.

Best Player Available Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Bucs cut their kicker today - Kyle Brindza The Bucs game was on right next to the Bills game in a bar. I thought I heard but too lazy too look up that the bucs kicker was 3 for 7 on field goals.
