Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Not sure what's happening with Dan the man but I don't like it. Think it's time to send him packing.
John from Riverside Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I honestly think he might be in real trouble....... Rex isnt gonna put up with this
sullim4 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Who do you replace him with? Gay can't kick FG's to save his life if the preseason is any indication. The Steelers cut their kicker and signed someone that's never played a down in the NFL. By this standard, we should have cut Hughes long ago given how many 15 yard penalties he's committed that have cost us points.

BuffaloHokie13 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 The Texans just cut that Bullock guy, maybe worth a tire kick
Best Player Available Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Carpenter should have been cut in pre season.
NoSaint Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Remember when we had the thread about why Miami cut him and settled on it being an overreaction to a bad couple weeks? Think we are having one of those moments here?
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 (edited) Usually I get very reactionary after losses, and I agree there is a good chance that Rex may cut him. This time I don't want to rush to judgements due to a loss though. He was already in Rex's doghouse during the preseason. However, as previous posters have mentioned who do sign then? It was a bad miss, and he's already missed a pat this year. I do hate to wait until we lose a game due to special teams, but he is certainly not the sole reason we lost today. I don't think it was the kind of horrible day that causes kickers to lose their job. At least it shouldn't be. Edited October 4, 2015 by DriveFor1Outta5
The Adam Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I agree with cutting Carp but not removing him from the team. Every miss gets a finger cut off. If he is lining up and looks over, and Rex is holding hedge clippers, those kicks will find their way in.

You either let your guy, who has been solid, to shake off the funk, or you cut him and roll the dice with another kicker who was probably just cut himself for missing kicks. We got lucky with Carpenter when the Dolphins let him go. Do we want to test our luck again? A lot of teams are desperate for kicking.
John from Riverside Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 The bottom line is he is missing too many kicks
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Guy has been hurt, give him some slack. He did make like a 51 yarder, right?
Leroi Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Any kicker off the street would be an upgrade. He is just not dependable. Imo
Best Player Available Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 me thinks the Bucs may cut a kicker very soon. That Aside, this carrying a kick off specialist. and a kicker who sucked in pre season and since, needs some FO attention. I really would hate to see a 40+ yarder needed with a game on the line and Carpenter the kicker. The dude does not inspire confidence. His mojo is gone. IMO

In this case he likely cost us a win...that miss caused a chain of events that saw us go for it on 4th and goal instead of kicking another FG to cut it to a one possession game. Game would have been tied at 16 instead of us being down 16-10.
BillsFan130 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 There are no kickers out there.. be careful what you wish for
