Boatdrinks Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 But not because of that. Their mimicking of the Patriots strategy had literally nothing to do with the win. Their defense got a turnover, and their RB made an unreal play. Other than that, they generated like 250 yards of offense. My point is to only say that the narrative of "Giants copy pats strategy, which is what caused them to win" is simply false. Right. It'll sell a few papers and generate some clicks because it's controversial " what's wrong with the D ?" But make no mistake, the Bills lost this game largely because they were terrible on offense. Not defensive penalties or lack of sacks on Eli. The " strategy" kept Mannings shirt clean, but wasn't the difference in getting a win. A decent performance by the Bills O would have dealt the Giants a 3 rd loss.
Wayne Cubed Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) Randle's "TD" catch. Honestly, I can't tell if his knee is down at that point. What looks like his knee is actually Gilmores arm. It's possible his knee is down, I just don't think thats a very good view of it, if it is. Well, the real story is: Eli and the Giants made two timely plays and avoided negative plays, but were otherwise totally shut down by the bills defense. Their strategy of quickly releasing the ball avoided sacks, but also led to virtually no offensive production, particularly of the kind that the pats generated in using the same strategy. if I were the pats, I would be insulted by the narrative being painted about simply mimicking the pats strategy. No one can mimic that, since it depends solely on Brady. Yup. 1 touchdown on a turnover, another on bonehead penalties extending the Giants drive and another on a nice play by the Giants RB. After the Giants 2nd TD the Bills defense forced 6 punts including five 3 and outs. On the Jennings and Harris TD, Rambo made some horrible plays. Edited October 5, 2015 by Wayne Cubed

26CornerBlitz Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 Great CB play by Darby & Gilmore lost in defeat There are a lot of things that are often forgotten in a loss. Unfortunately on Sunday the cornerback play of Ronald Darby and Stephon Gilmore against a strong receiver tandem of Odell Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle went for naught. Gilmore and Darby were largely responsible for holding the Bayou Brothers to a combined eight catches for 69 yards and a touchdown. The two Giants receivers were targeted 18 times in the game by Eli Manning. @SalSports Here are Bills 18 penalties (1 declined), yds for each & how many Off yds nullified (* = resulted in NYG 1st down):

Crazy fast. DL needs to start getting their hands up when the realize this is the game plan. Sure, it takes away from the pass rush but they're not getting there anyway. A few batted balls for INTs might make offenses second guess this strat. The DBs also need to be pressing the WRs and making tackles the moment they catch the ball. Safeties need to be knocking the snot out of any WRs coming across the middle. If they can't get pressure there are other ways of disrupting their offense.

26CornerBlitz Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 @JoeBuscaglia Rex finally takes accountability for penalty problem, the latest on Sammy/McCoy, and more in my 5 #Bills takeaways http://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-5-takeaways-from-bills-hc-rex-ryan-105 1) Rex takes more accountability for penalties - The biggest story stemming from the 24-10 loss to the New York Giants has a lot to do with the penalties the team took — 17 of them for 135 yards, to be exact. After the game, Rex Ryan was adamant that he was proud of his team, essentially eschewing the team from a large amount of accountability for such a high number of penalties. Something changed with Ryan, and he started to acknowledge that his team had a problem. The head coach told reporters that the penalties are something that keeps him up at night in trying to figure out how to fix it. He also took responsibility for all the personal foul calls, 13 in total, from the season, agreeing that it all starts with him and his approach. How do the Bills fix the problem? Ryan said he has some ideas and first wants to discuss it with his players. He also didn’t rule out the idea of benching players for it as well. Either way, the Bills are acknowledging all the calls against them were an internal problem, and one they have to sort out immediately. Watch: Penalty Problems Return, Run Game Struggles (3:22)John Murphy takes a closer look at the continued penalty issues and discusses why the run game struggled against the high ranked rush defense of the New York Giants.
