"Partly because of the Hunter's Hope Foundation and the public awareness created by the son of former Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, Elijah received a cord-blood transplant at Duke University - before suffering any irreversible damage from Krabbe.

"Elijah is a sparkling, jovial, bouncing, happy-go-lucky boy with an infectious giggle," said Micki Gartzke, the foundation's education director. "He's everything a little kid should be, as opposed to kids with this disease whose future isn't that bright."

That right there is f---ing amazing. Amazing.

I remember a statement by Jim Kelly that said once upon a time the most important thing in life to him was winning a Super Bowl, but after Hunter was born it changed to just having his son be healthy.

That about says it all.

God Bless...
