ricojes Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 It's probably too early to have this conversation
Kelly the Dog Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Bring him over to see the deers in Jimbo's backyard. It worked once.
Drewgetz Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) There's a lot of season left and it's probably too early to have this conversation, but if the offense keeps plugging away the way it has, Greg Roman's going to be a top candidate for just about every head coaching job around after this season. After so many years of watching terrible OCs, I'd really hate to see him to go. However, I remember seeing an article from the offseason where Roman said he interviewed for HC gigs when he was with SF, but that teams got tired of waiting as the 49ers went deep into the playoffs. It sounds like he would definitely like to be a HC and I think Rex and the Bills FO would respect that...but for the sake of this conversation, what could the Bills do to convince him to stay? The Pegulas could definitely give him head coach type money and an assistant head coach title...what else? T.O.'s key to the city? A guarantee that we spend all draft picks next year on the offense? Get crazy with it, let's make him an offer he can't refuse! Go Bills! Answered your own question, Go deep into the playoffs. Edited October 2, 2015 by Drewgetz

klos63 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 There was talk of Pettine getting some offers, and lots of folks said no way he gets an offer. Well, ole Mike jumped at the first opportunity, and while I can see why he took the job for the $, and experience. That job was probably the very worst HCing job in the NFL. Still, after only playing three games it is a bit early to be worried just yet. And it will likely be an open position this coming off season

Clippers of Nfl Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I'll throw in my father in law too. I'm thinking: Ohhlala.
K D Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Pray Indy wins the Super Bowl. Otherwise he is probably the top choice there and that's a really good team/opportunity to have instant success

Rex could give him his truck pay him as much as Rex make him assistant HC and tell him he can be HC when Rex retires It does not work they way due to Rooney Rule unless Rex was head coach in name only.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) Promote him to assistant head coach / OC and show up at his house with a brinks truck? Just enjoy the now! +1 on both of those Edited October 2, 2015 by BillsFan-4-Ever
nucci Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Roman had some good years with the 49ers and Kaepernick and wasn't offered a HC job yet after 3 games with the Bills you figure he'll get an offer?
machine gun kelly Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I agree with one post, it doesn't matter how much money we pay, he will leave to have his own shot at head coach if it is not a hot mess of a team. I hope he stays, but not much we can do about it.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Yeah but in an ESPN interview two weeks back Rex said he's planning to coach here for 10 years! Maybe if DW & Rex told him that he's the designated heir when Rex retires in four years.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 If I am Roman, I would be very choosy. He is in a great spot here. Unless he can go to a team with a strong FO and elite QB, he should wait it out. Look at Pettine-- the guy is probably going to get canned after 2 years, when, if he had stayed, he might be in line for the colts job.
Dorkington Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 You hope an assistant or position coach has learned his system, and plug him in to keep some continuity.
