I don't know about the rest of you folks, but I tire at the constant fawning over Bellacheat and Brady. Last week to hear all the sports talking heads proclaim a 16 and 0 season for the Pats as a possibility was more than I could take. I finally stumbled upon an article that had something meaningful to say about the Pats and thought I would share....

I'd be happy to have them go 16-0 if you could guarentee me they'd lose to the Bills in the playoffs. Or worst case to the Giants in the Super Bowl.

I have a buddy who is a huge Giants fan. He got a tatoo with the Pats logo with a hatchet going through it's head- that reads "17-1 slain"

They play the Broncos in late November in Denver. They also play us and Rex won't make the same mistake twice.

Oh no Rex would not make the mistake twice......What is his record against NE???? Might want to look it up big guy.

He's 4-10, which means he wins more than a quarter of the time he plays them. He's currently lost 3 in a row, so by my math he is due for a win :D

Assume people know why winning 13 straight is very improbable, even assuming, say, they have on average a 70% chance of winning each game? You can think of it this way: Assume you have a dart board with 70% of the area in green and 30% in red. The green area reflects the likelihood of winning an individual game. Assume you really stink at darts and have no aim. You'd have to hit the green area 13 times in a row to string together the 13 wins analogous to the Pats running the table for the rest of the year. Very unlikely. Not impossible but very unlikely.

I've been out in Las Vegas for the last 2 weeks

and I've had a great time. Today South Point Casino posted odds for the Patriots and Packers

to have a undefeated season and win the Super Bowl. if you bet either team you get 20-1 odds

but they must go undefeated with a perfect record

and win the Super Bowl. You can also bet that the patriots will finish the regular season at 16-0

and get 12-1 odds. I sure hope the Bills put a stop to this when they play the cheats on MNF on National TV In Week 11.

by the way I put $20 down on the Sabres to win the Stanley cup if they do I win $2,000.00

I also put $20.00 on the Bills to Win Super Bowl

50 if they do I win $440.00

you never know.

Go Bills, Go Sabres, Go Buffalo

+1

However I would prefer they lose the next 13 in a row and we face the stupid jaguars or the lame browns in buffalo. that would be much better.

Their schedule is fairly easy. It's a legitimate talking point.

Going 16-0 twice in this era of football is pretty ridiculous. Can't do it without cheating.

Even if we assume the Pats have a 90% chance of winning each game left in the regular season they have about a 25% chance of finishing 16-0. So even if they are a very dominant team the odds of them winning out isn't good.

So, I'm not sure it's a legitimate talking point. Just a talking point. Once they get to 10-0 or so then I'll there's a legit chance.

I don't think they are good enough on defense to go undefeated, but their schedule appears to be breaking the right way with injuries such as romo/dez so I wouldn't be shocked if it happened.

Everyone knows the odds aren't good. It's a perfect f+%*ing season.

You don't have to wait until a certain outcome is probable before you start talking about it. Especially since the Pats already did it in the last decade.

Of course, to extend the analogy, it becomes a lot easier to hit the green 13 times in a row if you stand two feet away and push the darts into the board.

I've said it before: The Cheatriots going 16-0 was proof that the devil exists. The Giants beating them in the SB was proof that God exists.
