YoloinOhio Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Not sure of Miller's status for this week with his groin injury - bit for those who watch line play who do you think looked better - Miller or Urbik? I know Miller had struggled a bit the first 2 weeks, not unusual for the rookie starter but could we be better off with a vet on the right side? I know urbik wasn't good last year but new scheme this year and he was decent in the past. Thoughts?

Thought they both looked good yesterday, and didn't notice any kind of drop off when Urbik came into the game.
BuffaloBill Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Miller is the future. Keep playing him assuming there is week to week improvement....
GunnerBill Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I didn't think Urbik got any push in the run game at all when he came in. He was pretty solid in pass protection but I think the best thing for the team is to continue to roll with Miller and let him develop. The difference, so far as there is any at the moment, is negligible so advantage to the younger guy. PS. I reserve the right to change this opinion after watching the all-22.
vincec Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I would say they were about the same, but I agree that Miller needs to play to develop.
John from Riverside Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Urbik is in the exact spot you want him to be......backing up the OG spots for a game here and there due to injury You HAVE to keep playing John Miller......he is young and only going to get better.......
BuffaloHokie13 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 As long as he's healthy I think you play Miller. If Miller needs a week off to be 100% then let Urbik fill in.
eball Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I'm just concerned about Miller's g-g-groin, in-jur-eeee.
YoloinOhio Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 Ok - good thing know that Miller has been solid enough to keep going if he is healthy. I agree the all 22 will add more context.
Nanker Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Can't play a guy that's really hurt. Is he? We'll find out.
YoloinOhio Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 If Miller continues to develop this draft that we "mortgaged away" could end up being really fruitful with 3 immediate key contributors
TPS Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 We'll get an idea after Bocephuz posts his OL review.
YoloinOhio Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 @Rand_Getlin: #Bills guard John Miller is dealing with a groin strain and is week-to-week, a source said.
Taro T Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I'm just concerned about Miller's g-g-groin, in-jur-eeee. Been watching "I on Sports?"
Doc Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Been watching "I on Sports?" No, old episodes of "Cheers."
Big C Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Everyone who wanted to cut Urbik for cap reasons saw why we kept him yesterday. He is a great backup OG/C. Imagine if we kept Richardson instead. I trust him to start in Miller's place. However, I also agree with those saying we keep Miller going if he is healthy.
Tenhigh Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 (edited) No, old episodes of "Cheers."Sam Malone rapping, right? Some kind of commercial? Edited September 28, 2015 by Tenhigh

Once he took the pay cut in the spring I was always fine with keeping Urbik. Would have been crazy to let him go he is cheap and experienced and whilst not good he isn't going to lose you a game. Look around the NFL the standard of o-linemen is bad! Urbik as a backup I am ok with.
peterpan Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I thought Urbik looked good out there. Miller and Seantrell have been liabilities this year. I'm all for young guys learning to play, but sometimes you learn the best went you take a step back and watch too. I'm tired of waiting. its been 16 years since we have been to the playoffs. 16 years!!! At this point I dont give a rip about develping a G. Play the guy that has the best chance of helping us into the playoffs THIS year
