I'll ask again- do you think any player thinks the leadership is changing week to week? its a motivation ploy, not a leadership statement.

Nope, but why not recognize the actual leaders instead of being a "he worked hard" award? Make a seperate "he worked hard " award if need be but making people honorary captains reeks of pee wee football.

reasonable reaction to rotating who calls the coin flip (and who stands next to that person).

Do you think even a single player views the leaders of the team differently either way?

Or do you think they take it as a way to fire up guys a little extra each week and the idea that you need to name captains to know leaders is silly?

How many days until fans can acknowledge the ups and downs with his skill sets?

He's super talented but gets out of control far too often - hopefully he finds a balance.

How about when he actually comes back to work

I don't think it's necessarily an honorary captain thing. I think it's more of trying to get different players to step up into a leadership role. With FJ gone and Kyle short on his career this team needs leadership. So where it's a switch from what was done previously, I can see the benefits of doing it this way and don't really see where it can have a negative impact. The leaders in the room now aren't going to be offended because they don't have the C on their jersey. They're going to continue to lead because that's what they do.

yeah I like permanent captains myself but it's not like that ever produced a winner. Might as well try something different.

Maybe at any given time , they all and each need to lead..

and the ex wife and i were talking today about how cool Pop Warner/Pee Wee was. Everyone played ( at least a little bit)and everyone got recognised . High school it became a business regardless of the sport. Fairport was all about winning and the fun was gone.

oh well.

it appears a number of people did not see coin toss and was surprised to see no update in this thread.

Captains were 4 former Miami Players:

OG Richie Incognito

TE Charles Clay

kicker Dan Carpenter

specialist Marcus Thigpen

and

former University of Miami tackle Seantrel Henderson

Of course Chris Hogan, another former Phish, and Charles Clay both got to score TDs against they former team and Dan Carpenter kicked a long FG.

Score:

Former Miami Players: 15

Miami: 14
