Yeah, you know what's interesting about his story? That he returned from Europe in an "LSD." There were no LSDs in the Atlantic; they were all supporting the Corps in the Pacific. He may have meant "LST," but regardless, it's a prime example of "Don't trust what you read," and "Don't trust witness testimony."

 

Straightens up one thing, though: he was a gunner on a Higgins Boat off of the Bayfield. Still can't get the rest of his combat record straightened out.
