BuffaloHokie13 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 So, the Meh arbitrage basically netted us an upgrade from a 7th to a 6th when all is said and done. yep, and likely a worse 5th round pick since the one we sent to the vikes was the 1st pick of the 5th round
devldog131 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 So in other words, we traded a dollar for a buck. Cool... We made a little profit. Basically traded a 5th and a 7th for a 5th and a 6th.
BuffaloHokie13 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 So that's why there are 24 pages on Tyrod review?? His 90+ QBR should be lower. different QBR, Tyrod's ESPN QBR is ~57
NoSaint Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Terms: The Bills sent QB Matt Cassel and a 2017 seventh-round pick to the Cowboys for a 2017 fifth-round pick. 3:52 PM - 22 Sep 2015 I was only guessing too It was a pretty common sense guess once we heard swapped late rounders. Had to be a little value between those picks.
Coach Tuesday Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 So, the Meh arbitrage basically netted us an upgrade from a 7th to a 6th when all is said and done. Someone here needs to change their screen name to "The Meh Arbitrage."
Leroi Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 This Whaley guy loves to wheel and deal. Several positive transactions this year. This is just the Cherry on Top. Imo
YoloinOhio Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) This seems like good compensation for a guy they were going to cut, and who would have been a FA at the end of the year anyway. They gave up a 5th in the offseason before they knew what they had in the other 2 QBs. Now they know what they have and don't think they need Cassel. Instead of cutting him they get the 5th back in a future draft for a guy they would have lost now or at the end of season, plus save 2 mill. The 6th they got in the trade also netted Tony Steward, who made the team. Edited September 22, 2015 by YoloinOhio
PS 56 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Glad Whaley did this. Takes our mind off the New England game....
YoloinOhio Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 @AlbertBreer: Cowboys' plan now is for Kellen Moore to be Brandon Weeden's backup, with Matt Cassel assuming that job after he learns the offense.
eball Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Huge vote of confidence for Tyrod, and a not so insignificant vote of confidence for EJ as well. Good job, Whaley, taking advantage of the market to wind up a bit ahead on the whole Meh experiment.
Augie Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 This had to happen after Big Mouth Jerry gushed about Weeden so much I had to wonder why Romo ever started in the first place. I know they need depth, but..... seriously, Jerry?
dayman Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Guys, don't forget: https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video/CPitT9qU8AAq6WG.mp4 (worth the click)

YoloinOhio Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I like the deal. Do they bring in a 3rd Quarterback now or use the roster spot somewhere else? dawan Landry anyone??
