YoloinOhio Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Last week, penalty negated a 12 yard TD. This week, a 22 yard catch by McCoy. Those who watch blocking during plays or look at all-22 -- is he a really good blocker? He better be. I'd rather have Gragg out there, at least he can catch.
K D Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Mulligan is Rex's man crush. he kills it in the weight room but is he really a good football player? it takes more than bench pressing 500 pounds to play in the NFL and i think he sucks
Kirby Jackson Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 He's the worst player on the roster. He took the torch from Lee Smith and is running with it.
YoloinOhio Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 I'm not saying I'm an expert by any means. Obviously I'm just pointing out the negative due to the horrible penalties. But hoping someone can enlighten me on why he is out there. I don't usually watch blocking during the game unless the broadcast points it out. But he seems like a waste of a roster spot unless he's a stud blocker when I'm not watching.
Uffalo Ills Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I noticed the same thing. As a blocking TE, I should never hear his name being mentioned, but instead it always seems to crop up in bad situations...

Mulligan was called for an alignment infraction relating to not being on the line of scrimmage. When they showed the replay I didn't see what he did wrong. The announcers thought that was a very tight call. What did you see with the all 22? That penalty was very damaging.

I will be watching for the analysis if anyone can look for that play.
PolishDave Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I thought he sucked in preseason. I still think he sucks. For a guy who doesn't seem to make any big plays, he sure makes his fair share of negative plays.
Wraith Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 He's the worst player on the roster. He took the torch from Lee Smith and is running with it. ....very slowly.

He was lined up about six inches off the line of scrimmage, so technically didn't cover up the end. You know the type of play that Pats* apologists claim that are legal because an inch here and inch there don't matter when you know the rule book.
Pete Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 in his defense, Mulligan did catch a 2 yard pass
YoloinOhio Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 in his defense, Mulligan did catch a 2 yard passso then he is Lee Smith 2.0
May Day 10 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I see him more like a young Derek Fine

If you can get away with something you get away with something. If you can't then you get caught and pay the consequences.
Webster Guy Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Eric Wood on WGR last week had a comment about Mulligans crushing blocks. The guy is basically an Olineman eligible to catch passes. not lining up properly is a coaching issue, unless the guy is total veggie brain.

26CornerBlitz Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 He's the worst player on the roster. He took the torch from Lee Smith and is running with it. Every team needs a Lee Smith for inopportune holding penalties and dropped passes.
Dorkington Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I'd rather Gragg be out there, myself. Go with more spread TE formations vs power TE formations.
