Estelle Getty Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) Sorry have to throw this out there due to the way we have been hosed against the *pats as far back as pete carroll was the coach. We are to forgetful (Jerry Hughes personal foul for slapping his own teammates head?) Not saying it will happen this year but Tell me if this sounds familiar: -Penalties called on both teams fairly equally through the first half. (Bills usually still in it) -Third quarter first *pats drive is stalled at a certain point....but wait here is the first phantom illegal contact call on the Bills and the *pats go on to score. (Insert former bills coach standing emotionless looking at the ground) -The now dejected defense finally holds the *pats to a fg but it is now a 17 point game because the Bills offense is inept. -Now in th 4q the *pats put it away with a 35 yard touchdown...but wait there is an offensive holding call on the *pats (almost as if to say"see we call it both ways" when in reality the momentum shift of the first illegal contact on the Bills was titanic) The the Bills force a punt and score a touchdown with 8 minutes left. -The Bills make a great play and force a *pats punt !!!! What's this? Illegal hands to the face on the Bills and the *pats runnout the clock leaving just enough time for whatever reject Bills qb time to run around like a chicken with their head cut off trying to score a meaningless TD. At this point you want to punch Phill Simms in the face as the announcer because you feel he is part of the problem with life. Oh the memories! Edited September 18, 2015 by Estelle Getty
Lurker Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) Ronald Torbert is the ref assigned to the game. Not real familiar with him (it's his second year as a ref, used to be a member of Ed Hochuli's crew ) http://www.footballzebras.com/2015/06/04/12764/ R Ronald Torbert__6 years__attorney U Carl Paganelli__16 years__retired federal probation officer HL Jim Howey__17 years__director of adult education LJ Mark Steinkerchner__22 years__vice-president FJ Aaron Santi__1 year__middle school principal SJ Scott Edwards__17 years__environmental engineer BJ Greg Yette__6 years__defense contractor Replay official: Bill SpyksmaReplay assistant: Terry Sullivan This nugget from last year is worrisome: http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/nfl-week-15-cleveland-browns-detroit-lions-green-bay-packers-121414 Referee: Ron Torbert. Ron came into the league in 2010 and this is his first season as a referee. He came out of the Big Ten. He is an attorney and graduated from Michigan State. He is a good man with a bright future. I really liked the way he handled himself as a referee in the Big Ten. He has a ways to go at this level, but he will make it. Torbert's crew: This crew likes to throw the flag. Through Week 14, they lead the league in offensive pass interference and unnecessary roughness calls. They are making up for lost ground in offensive holding calls, calling 10 in the last two weeks. They had Carolina/Pittsburgh in Week 3 and they called 25 fouls. Now they have Tampa Bay, the team that has been called for the most penalties. There's a good chance you might be seeing a lot of yellow today. As does this story in the Snooze from last year's Denver game: http://bills.buffalonews.com/2014/12/07/first-quarter-analysis-penalty-nickell-robey-proves-costly/ Nickell Robey was left shaking his head, and it's hard to blame him. "The Buffalo Bills' cornerback was called for illegal contact on a third-and-6 play from the Buffalo 19-yard line Sunday against the Denver Broncos at Sports Authority Field. The penalty, which came with Robey in coverage against Broncos receiver Wes Welker, gave Denver a first down at the Bills' 14. The flag was an absolute blown call by first-year referee Ron Torbert's crew. Robey made barely any contact with Welker, and in no way impacted the receiver's route. Two plays after the penalty, Broncos running back C.J. Anderson scored on a 6-yard run and Denver took a 7-0 lead." Estelle Getty Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 This should be fun! How many game changing calls have there been against th *pats in our favor the last 15 years? I count 0. On the other end probably 7 or 8 against us when the game was close.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 This is classic Battered Buffalo Fan Syndrome thread. Looking for reasons of failure before an event even takes place.
Lurker Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 This is classic Battered Buffalo Fan Syndrome thread. Looking for reasons of failure before an event even takes place. Not looking at all. It's just good to know what we're up against...

Estelle Getty Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) Not looking at all. It's just good to know what we're up against... Exactly. As a historian we shouldn't be so quick to forget the past. And then stand there with dumb looks on our faces if it happens again. Edited September 18, 2015 by Estelle Getty

What a Tuel Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 They won't have a choice when we are up by three scores despite the favoritism. Oh great, a replay official with "spy" in his last name Kind of like despite their best efforts, the officials couldn't let the colts win last week.
The Wiz Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Isn't torbert the guy who did the Denver game last year when they fist-bumped after denver scored on the bills?Bingo.
Jon in Pasadena Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) This tidbit jumped out at me: Watkins beat fellow rookie Bradley Roby off the line of scrimmage, but didn't show good field awareness by letting Roby come back and strip the ball. It was Roby's fumble recovery last night that won it for Denver. Guy has good ball awareness -- they should block the crap out of him. Edited September 18, 2015 by Jon in Pasadena
BuffaloHokie13 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 New Day New Way. the past and the victim mentality! I was going to post the selfie that Boyst linked earlier with the cow labeled as 'The Past' but I figured just saying that here would be enough...
