808 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 started to plan my trip to come to the bills vs dallas game. for once I'm planning on staying for a couple days rather than fly in and fly out right after the game. any recommendations on where to stay? I've read that the waterfront area is cool newer spot but what would be there better hotels to stay at? any info is appreciated
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Hopefully the massive El Nino this year will bring us a warm winter around the Great Lakes! That said, give the last two winters... Bring your ice skates, because the waterfront in BFLO will have (or will be) frozen (freezing) up by the time The Bills play The Boyz on 12/27!
808 Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 yeah i figure it'll be frozen by then. but thats a huge game should be a fun frosty one
eball Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Canalside this past weekend...it's been open for a little more than a year and it was outstanding. Very clean, modern rooms, a little place they call the "Bistro" where you can get food/drinks, and a gym/pool downstairs. The 716 Bar is right across the street as well as the Metro. Highly recommended.
plenzmd1 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Staying at the Lofts on Pearl this weekend. Will give an update as to how we liked it after the weekend. Will say the place is a bit pricey , but having a place where a group can watch college football with a full kitchen was attractive. Also, the fact of having two seperate bedrooms is very nice , especially come Sunday night when your roommate been doing nothing but drinking beer and eating meat for the last 36 hours.
ricojes Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Pegula's new Harborcenter Marriot! And the Sabres play the Caps at home the next day...
Canadian Bills Fan Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 If your on a budget I like the Red Roof. CBF

I have that place bookmarked for later this season, it may be pricey, but if you break it down per person it is reasonable.2 bedrooms and the couch pulls out so it breaks out as cheap as any of the other places downtown.
eball Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Pegula's new Harborcenter Marriot! You won't be able to get a room. They had a "soft" opening a couple of weeks ago but are not running at full capacity yet.

Just checked, rooms are available, but the cheapest one is $251/night. Courtyard Buffalo is $189... They Hyatt is pretty nice as well. It's a distance from Canal Side, but close to the metro rail... It is awesome!!! Seriously we loved it. Walking distance from everything downtown and it is a very modern looking apartment that has been converted to a hotel room. Edit: they also give you a voucher for breakfast at the diner they have downstairs at Pearl Street brewery. It is great hangover food! Edited September 18, 2015 by YoloinOhio
VanCity Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I'm coming into town for the Cowboys game too and am thinking the Hyatt based solely on cost and reviews. Anybody have any feedback?
TPS Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Other options. There's the Lafayette Hotel too which is certainly walking distance to all or a block from the free main street metro rail. It has an upscale restaurant and a pub operated by Pearl Street Brewery. http://buffalobrewerydistrict.com/lafayette/about If you want to stay near the Elmwood strip, there's a new Inn in my neighborhood: http://www.innbuffalo.com/

Anybody have any feedback? I have never stayed there, but I have been to several conferences and it's really nice. Good location as well, walking distance to several bars and very close to the metro rail. EB Green's is a great steak house located inside the Hyatt as well... the mansion on Delaware would be a cool place to stay: http://www.mansionondelaware.com/ There is also the Avant Embassy suites are really nice https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#safe=off&q=the+avant+buffalo Hampton Inn is good http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/new-york/hampton-inn-and-suites-buffalo-downtown-BUFDTHX/index.html Plenty of options...
