drinkTHEkoolaid Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Somebody said recently that Matthews would have been picked before Eichel and after McDavid. Is that the consensus? Not sure but would have been very interesting. Would have been an unprecedented mceichustin tank watch.
plenzmd1 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Man that last goal was soft. i do subscribe to the theory that not all goals are equal...i dont care what his stats say, ocho gives up softies at awful times. Yes, he makes some unbelievable saves at times...but damn tie games in the 3rd he spits it more than not. Can you imagine being dead last three years in a row and not getting the #1 even once?
26CornerBlitz Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 @BuffNewsVogl Lessons in losing are tough for Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart, but Sabres rookies are learning good things, too. http://sabres.buffalonews.com/2016/01/02/sabres-are-still-trying-to-find-their-way/

What's the statue of limitations on something like that?
MarkyMannn Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 @BuffaloSabres Final. Sabres outshoot Wings 35-23. Eichel with two goals and Reinhart also scored. #DETvsBUF Went to yesterdays game. This team is unwatchable. Maybe 5-6 guys belong in the NHL. MANY empty seats where people sit home. Of course they announce seats sold. Arena is a morgue. Now 30th, lets not talk about progress

26CornerBlitz Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 29th Place overall. Yikes! @BuffNewsVogl As division rivals ride the waves, Sabres sink to bottom of Atlantic. 26CornerBlitz Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 Matthews watch begins Picks 1, 2, and 3 are subject to lottery drawings in the 2016 draft. 30th place only guarantees the 4th pick.
drinkTHEkoolaid Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Picks 1, 2, and 3 are subject to lottery drawings in the 2016 draft. 30th place only guarantees the 4th pick. That was my point. If we finish at bottom the top 3 picks are all lottery so we actually have a good chance to get another major impact player ( I know slimmer chance for auston than we had last year for mcdavid but whatever) we have a chance for another elite player
26CornerBlitz Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) @BuffaloSabres NEWS: The Sabres have recalled Tim Schaller from @AmerksHockey. Details >> http://bufsabres.co/tzXISd Nic Deslauriers has a lower-body injury, will be out 3-5 weeks, per Coach Bylsma. Ennis week-to-week. That was my point. They need another top flight talent. A nice sniper to play on Eichel's wing would be great. plenzmd1 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Do you know what the odds are for first pick this year for the last place finisher. I know it was 20% last year. My gut is the same, but the difference is only slightly higher than that to get 2nd pick, and then again only slightly higher to get 3rd . And for the dude who said the place was a morgue on saturday...at least on TV place sounded rocking

Of course they announce seats sold. Arena is a morgue. Now 30th, lets not talk about progress They have a very good young core which is step 1 of the rebuilding process. I didn't think many were expecting much this season, but apparently i was wrong. They are playing much better hockey this year and are much improved even though their record may not reflect that. They need Lehner back in there to play the majority of the remaining games. We just don't know what we have in this guy, so hopefully he can stay healthy from here on out. As far as the arena, it's been horrible for years. It's very boring going to games there, no energy at all. i don't know what it is, it's not the building, because the place rocks for bandits games....

I have 0 expectations for this team and I'm really enjoying this season. No pressure. On just enjoying watching the young guys develop. Once they mature more and we get more talent and get rid of the veteran deadweight, awesomeness will follow. A top 3 draft pick this year would go nicely with our young core...
