No as usual, it's just you being you.

There is no question that not winning that lottery was a huge downer.

Not getting the local ultra phenom cost the franchise a fortune.

I talked to some people at One Buffalo weeks afterward and they were still devastated.

Not because of the player....everyone likes Eichel.......because of the lost impact.

As has been pointed out.......a lot of folks from Ontario venture down to watch the Sabres........but creating a new generation of Sabres fans in Ontario would have been enormous.

The Leafs have been doing their best to not be southern Ontario's team for the past 50 years........McDavid would have been huge and part of what you saw last year was people ANTICIPATING his arrival.

It seemed destined. Didn't happen.

That's an interesting perspective (new generation of Ontario Sabres fans) I had not considered, and I see your point.

Believe it or not, I'm not closed-minded. I just don't like know-it-alls.

I can't believe anyone could actually be "devastated" that the Sabres lost the lottery since there was only an 18% chance that they'd win it.

They had the best odds going into the draft. If there was an 18% of winning the lottery, i would definitely play every chance I had. But I wouldn't say people were devastated, I would say pissed off would be more appropriate. 2+ years of serious suffering was the main reason behind the disappointment, plus the league changing the draft rules every year, it just reached a boiling point. But at least finishing dead last guaranteed the 1 or 2 pick, so we were pissed off, but not as bad as it could have been....

I wasn't pissed off at all as not winning the lottery was the most likely result. The upset and bonus would have been getting the #1 pick.

Just like playing the power ball. If I don't win, I'm not going to be POed about it. Yes, I know it's not a perfect analogy because of the odds. But you get the point I'm sure.

Pissed off more at the league for changing the rules on the fly. They should have had a better chance at the #1, even if they were tanking.

ole Nicky better keep his head up!

Didn't end up getting in the other night in Buffalo...way to much for tickets (but i did get my kid a pair of uppers), so watched the game at 716. Anyone else get a bit of almost motion sickness watching hockey on that big screen ?

Not going tonight either even though in DC for the next couple of nights...again just to damn expensive for a regular season game in Decemebr

Caps are kitty cats for trying to bring up a useless goon for a provocation.

I can't stand that every clean hit feels like someone has to fight over it. Ridiclious.

How about the cheap shot boarding from ovechkin on gorges where's his payback?

Call kaleta up and let him fly around like a missile and crush people.

Oh wait...the sabres are trying to win the game
