As like you I'm very impressed with Bylsma. He is not inflexible to any particular system or to the way he evaluates players. He is constantly assessing the play of his players and the mixture of players on the lines and defensive pairings. The Sabres are very fortunate to have such a good coach. As time goes on this team is going to get better and much of it will be due to having the right coach in place. Coaching matters!

I'm very high on bylsma so far. He comes across as being very sharp, analytical, logical and forward thinking. He gives honest and thoughtful answers in interviews and I'm glad he's in an important position in the organization.

First really rough game for Ullmark but a good point to get and Kane is finally finishing, which is something we desperately need.

And even in losses, the team is watchable.

Dip in NHL goal-scoring is 'media-driven' not 'GM-driven' concern, says #Sabres' Tim Murray http://www.greenfieldreporter.com/view/story/11a1d05127d9458da64f195601644c0d/HKN--Around-The-NHL#.Vl70N78_Rd8.twitter

Of course it isn't a concern to the GMs. Their only motivation is winning. The media is the one who wants the game to be watchable, so obviously they are worried about a lack of scoring. It's the people above the GMs, the one who make the money who should and most likely do care about the scoring.

In this game Kane seemed to be better integrated with his line mates. In the prior games it was evident that he possessed high end skills but was a lone ranger player. In this game he played played well within his unit. The line of Kane, O'Reilly and Rhinehart is good now and should get better as the players get more familiar with each other.

In the Detroit game Ristol and Kane were the best players on the ice.
