Mike in Horseheads Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 SABRES PREP FOR 'SPLIT-SQUAD' ROAD TRIP See link for Ullmark and Bylsma Videos Thanks for these updates. I have a Sabrespace account but not having a shoutbox like we have makes it impossible to have the "constructive" discussions we have especially during the daily work time. Keep up the great work.

plenzmd1 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Saw that Akeson having a hearing. I already deleted the game, but I thought that was a good clean check to the shoulder, but may have left his feet. Anyone else have an opinion on that hit!

eball Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I skipped through the game in about 45 minutes this morning. First PP unit I thought looked good. Generated 5 shots. D made some glaring mistakes, none will be on ice for opener. Otherwise, preseason hockey as boring as preseason everything else. We learned Evander Kane has a shot!

I can see him leaving his skates...but thats hit. Does not look like a head shot to me.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 25, 2015 Author Posted September 25, 2015 @StillTalkinTV Hold those retirement plans: Rick Jeanneret isn't going anywhere http://talkintv.buffalonews.com/2015/09/25/jeanneret-to-return-for-2016-17-season-as-sabres-change-retirement-plans/
GG Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 looks clean right? I can see him leaving his skates...but thats hit. Does not look like a head shot to me. If you look at one of the replays, the skates leave the ice after the hit, not before.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 25, 2015 Author Posted September 25, 2015 Stanley Cup Prospects, Part 3: The Contenders This is Part 3 of our attempt to rank all 30 NHL teams based on their odds of winning at least one Stanley Cup in the next five years.No. 5 — Buffalo SabresThey say that in the modern NHL, you have to be bad before you can be good. “They” are Buffalo fans. And they’re saying it because, over the past few years, no team has been as bad as the Sabres. But they may be right, because the Sabres sure seem set for a Cup run. Not yet — just making the playoffs in 2016 would be considered a success. But this isn’t some long-term rebuild that still needs a few years of pain before it starts to flower. Call it tanking if you want, but Sabres GM Tim Murray basically kept this car in park for the past two years, even while he was revving the engine. And now it’s time to squeal the tires.Odds of a Cup in five years: 28 percent
26CornerBlitz Posted September 25, 2015 Author Posted September 25, 2015 @NHLPlayerSafety (1/3) After today's hearing the Department of Player Safety has determined there will be no supplemental discipline for Jason Akeson. (2/3) Akeson's skates are on the ice at impact, so the hit was not a charging violation. (3/3) And while there was some head contact, we deemed it was unavoidable under Rule 48.1(ii).
