Doc
At least we're not the Bruins... I'm not sure if I should root for Philly to get 2 more points just to knock the Bruins out.
26CornerBlitz
@BuffNewsVogl Johan Larsson, Chad Johnson and Zach Bogosian all out with minor injuries. Linus Ullmark will start Hudson Fasching and Casey Nelson, who sat Friday, will take place of Larsson and Bogosian. @BuffaloSabres Ullmark's back. QCity
The Sabres finished in the 8th slot for the 2016 draft. They have a 6.0% chance of getting the top pick, and a 19.1% chance of getting a top 3 pick. Those are the two percentages you need to know -- should make for an interesting lottery. Edit: The lottery is Saturday, April 30th. Edited April 10, 2016 by QCity

QCity
Any generational players coming out this year? No, but Auston Matthews is the consensus #1 pick and should be a star. There are two big Finnish players that most agree will go next, so getting into the top 3 this year would be an amazing break for us.
QCity
Some other interesting numbers: 20-14-7. That's the Sabres record over the last half of the season. That's 47 points over 41 games which projects to a 94 point season -- enough for the 8th seed in this year's playoffs. So even with injuries to O'Reilly, Kane, and Lehner, they played a pretty impressive 2nd half.

eball
Most entertaining Sabres season in years...to go from 52- and 54-pt seasons to 81 this year is fantastic. If they can add a couple more pieces and stay reasonably healthy there is absolutely no reason they won't be in the playoff conversation next season. The future is very bright. Should be a fun offseason with Murray adding a few key pieces to make the team a 2016-17 playoff contender.
plenzmd1
At least we're not the Bruins... Had a long drive yesterday and listened to the Bruins game from the Boston station on XM. Couple of things 1) their radio guys are quite good. Maybe they seem great because of the huge contrast between them and Edwards..buy i enjoyed listening to them 2) they were crushing the Bruins on effort and mental preparation not just for the game yesterday, but for the last month. Very honest assessments by the sound of it. 3) were not exactly gushing about the future...really questioned the deadline decisions...sounds like they had been doing that for a while. Too bad Loui is 30, he might have been a nice fit with Jack if he was a few years younger . I mean you guys cant see GMTM signing a 30 yr old to 6 year deal can you? Injuries are an inevitable part of hockey. All teams are subjected to them. Granted sometimes the number of injuries are so great that they are debilitating to the point that you can't compensate for the losses. That is why I would prefer not getting involved with the Stamkos auction and use that type of dedicated money to get at least two very good players for that cap amount. My preference is to bolster the roster in general so that when the injuries predictably occur the team is in a better position to absorb the losses. Side note: In the Islander game I thought Ullmark looked really good. Very composed play. Never got the sense even after he was scored on that it affected his play. Rodriques can skate! If Moulson would have had his scoring touch around the net that he has exhibited in the last few games the Sabres could have won two to three more games. PromoTheRobot
Toronto media were killing the Sabres for the last two seasons for the tank. Sauce for the gander. Yeah, being so far removed from a Stanley Cup would suck for sure. That's the funny thing about winning championships. As soon as you have one, no one cares. You just suck for falling short.
