There was some talk that the Oilers would be willing to trade Taylor Hall if the right offer came along. They would be looking to improve their defense. I would be willing to give up Pysk or McCabe in an exchange. I like both of our young defensemen but you have to give up something to get something.

Yeah, but D is what the Sabres need.

Buffalo still has a number of needs. It's far from being a complete team. If Murray traded Pysk for Taylor Hall I would take that deal because adding a scorer is a bigger need. I do like Pysk and more and more I've become impressed with McCabe. But if you want to acquire a talent you have to give up something comparable.

Only time will tell, but I do think Compher is going to turn out to be a very good player. Our fans have been gushing over Fasching a bit excessively, but lost in all of that is how Compher's season was far better. Granted, he's playing for a better team and a hell of a set of linemates, but he's definitely looking like a great asset right now for Colorado. But with that said, if he's the only part of those trades I look back on and wish we still had in the organization, I'm going to make that trade in hindsight just about every time.

Compher was included in the O'Reilly trade as was Zadorav, Gregorinko and a pick. I'll take that deal every time. O'Reilly is one of the best two way players in the league. Also, he is the type of player you want your young players to emulate.

I do like Compher and I was enamored with Zadorav. But you are not going to get a high end talent, even from a team that is making a cap decision to deal a good player, unless you give up something worthwhile.

@BuffaloSabres

Just in: Coach Bylsma says Hudson Fasching and Casey Nelson WILL both play tomorrow vs. Winnipeg.

C. O'Reilly & Colaiacovo will sit so Fasching & Nelson can make their @NHL debuts. Chad Johnson starts in net.

Not sure if posted but Sabres increased season ticket prices 4% next season. My 300 level seats were $22 when I first got them. Now they are $29.

I was going to say the same thing, but $29 is 2 beers in Toronto, so that's still a pretty decent price for a seat.

That's not how much my seats are, though! LOL

My birthday is in February... One present that my sister bought for me was tickets to a game and got seats right behind the Sabres bench...

...Big spender, I think the face value if I recall was 12 bucks or so.

Am I dating myself? The game was against the Nordiques... :D

I wonder what they go for now, tix behind the bench that is.
