bbb
I agree. The nhl actually has to consistently call the rules they already have! I hate the obstruction and grabbing and in general just doing everything possible to take the life out of the game, hide the skill and glorify a third line grinders importance. Definitely. Getting Eichel instead of McDavid was a HUGE downer. The anticipation of getting the theoretical McDavid.....who was going to be the next Gretzky........ WAS FAR GREATER than the day to day reality of having Eichel..........so that has a lot to do with it, IMO. I don't think it was for Buffalonians, but I think it was big time for Canadians. drinkTHEkoolaid
Let's talk o'reilly....I see drury but way more skill....dude leaves it all on the ice....Agreed. I said earlier he has potential to be a better drury/peca and go down as an all time fan favorite, the way he plays will be genuinely beloved by sabres fans. Of this guy plays like this and continues improving for the next decade he will be a hero. He is thriving with top line responsibilities that he is getting here that he wasn't in Colorado. Wtf was Colorado thinking giving him up. He is a guy you lock up for a decade. Edit- I think his hometown is just outside London Ontario just a couple hours away. Hopefully he is enjoying it here and wants to stay for a really long time. Does Colorado have any more trades they are willing to make? I hear they have these guys landeskog and MacKinnon..... bbb
Wrong. Again. Stick to football. I think in terms of ticket sales, this is right. I don't think the Canadian dollar would stop Canadians from flocking here to see the next Gretzky (also from their area)
YoloinOhio
Definitely. I don't think it was for Buffalonians, but I think it was big time for Canadians. makes sense. I never got the feeling that any Sabres fans were let down once Eichel was drafted. Maybe initially when they didn't win the lottery, but that changed very quickly. Anyone who says that doesn't know what the hell they're talking about as it was always about finishing in 30th place to guarantee one of the two "generational" prospects.. Hence the name McEichel. Maybe initially when they didn't win the lottery, but that changed very quickly. This sums it up pretty well. I was so pissed after the draft, but was fine with Eichel by the time the draft rolled around. The thing that scared me about McDavid was his love for the Maple Leafs, I still think he'll be playing there at some point in his career.
