boyst
Just dilly dallying looking at some flight options for another game. What are the times it would take to get to Buffalo airport after the game? Assume you need to be at the airport 30-45 minutes early, right? Been a while since I flown and I know an hour is ideal, but anyone have recent experience leaving the game to the airport?

Security at Buff/NF International can be long.
Just Jack
This usually comes up a few times a year, here's one thread I found.... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/178904-rws-to-buffalo-airport-advice/
ExiledInIllinois
See if you can get TSA precheck. I linked my DoD Army CAC ID with TSA. When I book a flight, I stick my DoD # in the Known Flyer # box. That will get you to breeze through security, won't have to take off shoes, etc... Even if you don't get TSA precheck, traveling w/somebody else that has it will work, you can ride their coattails. It works w/the rest of my family on my ticket. BUT you have to add the Known Flyer # in when booking. If you forget, you can call the airline later and they can add it. Should help with security... Get through faster. Go to TSA.gov and look for TSA Precheck. Edited September 17, 2015 by ExiledInIllinois
Just Jack
TSA Precheck is nice (I have it) but there's no way Boyst is going to get it with less than three days before the game. And you want to know the cheaper option? Nexus. Gets you Precheck and Global Entry at the cheapest price, but, you need to be able to go to a Canadian Border Crossing to finish the process once you're approved for the program. Been a while since I flown and I know an hour is ideal, but anyone have recent experience leaving the game to the airport? I went to the home opener last year, and flew in and out on the same day. Rented a car at the airport to drive to the game. My flight landed at about 11:30 and the outgoing flight left at 7:30. I had plenty of time for the outgoing flight, although I was a bit nervous and started leaving the stadium with a minute or two to go.
Maddog69
I live approximately 15 minutes from the airport (between the stadium and the airport). I park in Drive 5 off of southwestern. I am routinely home by 4:15-4:30 and I don't leave my seats at the stadium until the game is over. My opinion is that you could safely schedule a 6 o'clock flight without any worry at all and you could chance it with a flight as early as 5:
Max Fischer
If leaving for airport, which is the best parking lot to use?
Captain Caveman
I parked in someone's yard on Southwestern Blvd a bit of a walk from the stadium (tried to look it up on Google Maps and got the address of 3764 Southwestern Blvd, give or take a few I think that's about right) and had good luck getting out quick. Captain Caveman
If you're not checking luggage and only need to get through security 45 minutes is probably more than enough to get through security and to the gate. Are you renting a car? Last year returning the car ended up being one of the more time consuming activities, although I think it's probably not usually that bad. boyst
If I go up for a game it would be no checked luggage. I can always buy any last minute things. For this weekend tt will cost me $750 to go up last minute. I just can't spend that again on another weekend. Been a while since I flown and I know an hour is ideal, but anyone have recent experience leaving the game to the airport? Boys- I have TSA Pre-Check which makes it easier to get through security. It's $85 for five years, and you don't have to take off a sport coat, belt, take out your laptop, or shoes, and the line is always small compared to the regular line. Although I fly every week for work, even if you fly twice a year, it is so worth it. In Tampa, they have an office in baggage so I just took my forms of ID, was finger printed, and was easy. You need more than a license so bring the birth certificate and passport if you have it. Takes 10 minutes. I hope that helps.

Best part was there is no cost for DoD! Everything is on my DoD CAC... I suppose they just transfer it over to TSA, I think there is even finger prints linked to the CAC, they scan them when I get it updated. I was looking up airfare for the Dullfins game in November from IAD. $144 per person round trip with 1 stop. $240+ direct. What happened to the good old days of cheap flights?
