Just Jack
I'd go rent the cheapest EV vehicle you can and park it in that spot for a month or two.
KD in CA
They're redoing the rest stops on the Merritt Parkway in CT and I noticed they've added "parking for electric vehicles only" spots, which naturally all sit as empty as the multiple handicapped spots. Was happy to have the available spot right near the door last time I had to go in. Edited September 15, 2015 by KD in CT
Kevbeau
Life's not fair...get over it. Also, with the previous tax credits (maybe still active) one could pick up a Nissan Leaf for less than the price of a normal car. Saying "the rich" are stealing your spots is disingenuous. Joe Miner
If the city is setting up these ev spots to individual customers' meters they are stupid. Just because a customer pays for electrical access to be installed doesn't mean they own the access point. Assuming that the city isn't stupid enough to let the customers own these access points, they should be cutting the locks off.

DC Tom
People bought cars they can't charge, and the city dedicates parking spots with chargers to them, and then people in the same neighborhood B word about "land grabs by the rich." I'm not really seeing how this story could be more stupid and short-sighted.
Chef Jim
Stupid story but here in the Bay Area people with a handicap placard can park for free at metered parking. So someone making $250k who just happens to have a handicap placard (yeah those are hard to get) gets to park for free? Why?
