So the Board of Governors, which is chosen by the government, answers to the government and has it's mission directed by federal law, is part of the government but the rest isn't? Is that your point? So it's led by a government directed body, pays almost all it's funds to the treasury but the rest is private banks that get told what to do by the the Governors. Ok! a public private system. Whew!

Oh and I forgot! Thanks to Greggys video, I'm reminded, they also direct where HUGE amounts of government money will be directed! Thanks for helping me Greggy, you half wit! Ha ha ha!!!

What do you mean by "the rest"? That is like saying that because the SEC enforces security industy regulations that the securty industry is part of the U.S. Government. Edited by Chef Jim

Still no answer to this?

Because by law they have to.

The rest of the Fed aside from the board of governors. And no, bad example

Glad you did not disagree with the rest of what I said

Wow, someone even less intelligent than Greggy posted in this thread,

How does the Fed paying a portion of their profits make them a part of the US Government? Is it your contention that anyone who pays part of their profits to the US Treasury are in fact part of the US Government? Is that your argument?

It's not part, it's the vast majority, over 95%. Nice try stupid

So anyone who pays a portion of their profits to the US Treasury is a part of the US Government? That's really the answer you want to go with? I mean, the law also says my corporation has to pay a large portion of my profits every year to the US Treasury. Does that mean my company is now a part of the US Government?

God dammit you are an idiot! Your argument is too stupid to answer. Does 97% of the profits of any corporation go every year to the treasury? No

Have you seen taxes in California?

So, to clarify, the simple fact that the Fed is required (by law) to pay taxes on their income to the Federal Government does not make them PART of the Federal Government. We can agree on this, surely, can we not?

You idiot. Name one other agency that pays the Treasury, rather than is funded by the Treasury.

It is quite funny how you accuse everyone else of being angry but you've really been the only one in this "discussion" that has insulted posters on almost every one of your responses. And you told me to calm down.

I'd have to be interested enough in what you have to say to read what you have to say before I would disagree with it.

Wow, you really are a dumb guy. I guess its a bit complicated which confuses you. The Fed makes money, its a national bank, so its profits--the vast majority of them, go back to the tax payers

.

No, wrong. Just wrong...as usual

So I see the Fed is responsible--along with several other government agencies--for enforcing the Safe Act. So a federal law is enforced by federal agencies B-)

What the !@#$ is this what-the-!@#$ery? That is such a load of complete arrant nonsense that even for you it's phenomenal. The Fed reimburses taxpayers by giving money to the Treasury?

Is that the Board, the FOMC, the Reserve Banks, or the Member Banks that are giving my money to the Treasury?

Giving money to the US Treasury is giving money back to the US Taxpayers?! How does that work?

Just when I think we've reached the absolute nadir of your ignorance, you manage to show us you have an endless supply of stupid in your brain. It's quite a trick.

None of this means anything. I understand you are very angry at being completely wrong, but sorry, you are wrong. Look up for yourself exactly how it works. No surprise you are traveling down the obfuscation route. You are pathetic

Well, when I'm right and all you total idiots are wrong. BTW, they are still posting too. See why I try and avoid your posts? They are so worthless

Hard to understand your amazement. I guess I have trouble seeing through the cloud of ignorance that is your thought process. Yes, turning money over to the treasury is indirectly giving it back to our us

It's not obfuscation to ask you to clarify which part of the Federal Reserve is responsible for handling my tax dollars. Who pays the Treasury?

"Indirectly giving it back?" What the !@#$ does that even mean?
