YoloinOhio Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Get ready ... http://grantland.com/the-triangle/2015-nfl-college-football-power-running-counter-running/ Welcome to Football 101, a series intended to help you, the fan, better understand some common NFL and college tactics so when you see a long run or a pick-six, youll have a better grasp of how and why it happened. While many think the term power football describes an attitude or perhaps even a formation, coaches actually use it to refer to something more technical: the Power-O and Counter Trey1 run plays, which most coaches simply call Power and Counter, and which are foundational running plays in the NFL and college football.
BADOLBILZ Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Get ready ... http://grantland.com/the-triangle/2015-nfl-college-football-power-running-counter-running/ "Power and Counter are so effective because their very designs are forged from aggression." This is what intrigued me when I took a closer look at what Roman did in SF. IMO, there was a misconception about the level of talent he had to work with in SF. Even the Bills simple preseason running plays were a joy to watch compared to the disadvantageous situations that the OL has been in here for years.
