To me, I think that there was a glut of reasons for the Bills braintrust to decide to jettison Drew Bledsoe. The FACT Ben Roethlisberger had a solid year overall and help guide the Steelers to an AFC Championship game gave the coaching staff a chance to pause and consider J.P. in that sort of role. Secondly, the Bills do believe that they have gone as far as Drew is capable of taking them. His penchant to wither against better compitition is pretty self evident. Finally, the window theory is lingering! How many more years are left for this defense? They probably are thinking that 2005/6/7 are reasonable estimates to this dilemma! Therefore, from a strictly football performance evaluation, his days were numbered anyway you slice it!

I like most DB fans here on this board have said nothing against JP, HELL I want the guy to start...as I've said all along that means he beat out one hell of QB, I have said over and over again that all I wish for is a fair competition for the number one QB spot. No one is crying, to the contrary you DB haters have treated this guy like he was RJ....RJ nor Flutie couldn't carry DB's jock, I said it, he never would 'cause he IS a class act that wants nothing but to win. That said, the bottom line with Drew IMO is that he can't win the big game!

This crap about who is a better Bills fan, based on who you are wishing to start at QB well....... :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

Boo Hoo, I hear all these damn Drew Bledsoe fans crying, FACE IT, HE'S DONE HERE, so if you don't like it you might as well not be a Bills fan because JP LOSMAN IS NOW OUR QB, like it or not, oh and I don't care about him being a damn class citizen, I want to win football games, so Drew good luck and like Pam use to say on Maritin Peeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaacccccccccccceeeeeeeeeee

To be fair, you need to call out all the Flakes who worshipped at his feet and left soon after.

I hope you're not one of his legion.

My fave Bill no longer plays and I didn't follow him to Mijami when he was cut.

I'm a hardcore Bills and your ignorance/arrogance up starting this thread is disturbing!!!

We'd be far better off if Bledsoe took TD up on his offer and restructured his deal to a lower cap hit as we would have even more cap room to spend on FAs.....

I'm a tad confused. Which offer did TD give Bledsoe that he refused?

It's likely that Bills didn't drive a hard bargain with Bledsoe or Dunn possibly had an offer in hand from another team (Dallas?) that would have given Bledsoe $8mil for '04, and Bills' only choice was to extend the contract on unfavorable terms or go into March with Travis Brown as the only QB on the roster.
