YoloinOhio Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) @ChrisBrownBills: The #Bills have re-signed QB Matt Cassel. TE Nick O'Leary released to make room on roster. More at http://t.co/tgttAMwjdw. Edited September 8, 2015 by YoloinOhio
Peter Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 This makes sense. I presume the contract was re-done and that O'Leary will be on the PS if he does not get picked up by anyone.
Captain Hindsight Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I thought it was strap range O Leary made the team. Probably trying to get him through to the practice squad now
Kirby Jackson Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 This makes sense. I presume the contract was re-done and that O'Leary will be on the PS if he does not get picked up by anyone.Pretty much this and it makes a lot of sense to me. There was no reason to not do it at the right price.
Nanker Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I thought it was strap range O Leary made the team. Probably trying to get him through to the practice squad now chin strap range or jock strap range?
YoloinOhio Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 That link does not say Cassel resigned.blame Chris brown, his links are always wrong and then he fixes them
PlayoffsPlease Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 At a greatly reduced rate this makes sense. Capitalism at work. Fans should remember this the next time a player, like Kam Chancellor is holding out from a non-guaranteed contract. I don't think fans always realize that teams are not obligated to fulfill contracts when they "made a mistake" like over paying Matt Cassel. They do have to cut him to test the mark and confirm the mistake. But they have an out.
Maury Ballstein Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 He's baaaaaaaaack. Championship talk can resume.
YoloinOhio Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 @viccarucci: Predictable move. #Bills were able to get Cassel back at a drastically reduced salary. Likely vet minium of about $900,000 w bonuses.
Low Positive Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I thought it was strap range O Leary made the team. Probably trying to get him through to the practice squad now That is one of the funniest auto corrects that I have seen in a while. The jokes write themselves, and none of them are SFW.
NoSaint Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 im surprised cassel was into it - but i guess they probably gave him an offer, told him he could test FA and no one gave him a better situation. im not anti-cassel, was just anti-$5m-third-stringer.

YoloinOhio Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 The media collapses in relief that we weren't technically wrong @JoeBuscaglia: The coaches wanted Cassel all along. The front office didn't want to pay a backup almost $5 million. It adds up.
