Such jealousy and envy. The league outta call in agents Muldar and Scully to figure out why, after no longer video taping and stealing other teams plays, the Pats still have figured out a way to dominate the sport that isn't supposed to be dominated.

You think that Ernie didn't have copies of everything in Mom's basement? The smartest man in football only had one copy of everything and let the NFL destroy it?

They're likely still doing it and much more that hasn't made it to public awareness yet.

This is interesting because it's a shot across the P*a*t*s* bow from the NFL. They're basically saying, "We helped you cover up all your messes over all these years, and we need to punish you to save any kind of credibility, and this is how you do us, you go running to a judge? Well screw you."

Ah, yes .... Ernie as Walter Skinner. Does that mean Goodell is the Smoking Man?

Probably because your team continues to find ways to cheat that haven't been exposed yet.

You know, perhaps an explanation for things like Jerry Hughes getting a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty for slapping his teammate on the head in excitement?

There will never be any confusion about the Patriorts****, a tainted organization that is owed zero respect for their on-field sham of a championship run.

The article didn't really paint the nfl in a positive light though

Indeed...they are just as culpable in creating this culture of dishonesty. They accepted (and swept under the rug) NE****'s total disregard for the integrity of the game, and now they want to save face by punishing them.

This article does not paint Goodell in a good light at all.

If you actually read the article, it said Ernie Adams lived with his mom until she passed away. So, yeah, there might be stuff in mom's basement...because that's where he lived.

almost certainly not true that the nfl is releasing that its lied and covered up things in an effort to make the pats now look bad.

Agree entirely here. Well said.

I question the integrity of anyone that can defend that organization. And the more they go looking for loopholes to suggest that the cheating wasn't "technically" against the rules, the more I question it. I bet there is no specific rule that says you can't disguise yourself as NFL FILMS employees or a stated rule that says you can't pilfer play sheets left in the opponents lockerroom.

It's disgusting and I hope the other owners, some of whom I know have been pissed for YEARS, make an example of Goodell, fire him, and appoint a new sheriff. One with broadranging power to punish organizations and trust the public with the fallout that may ensue.

But according to Patriots fans, everyone is "haters," "nobody likes a winner," "the NFL has it out for them," "Goodell has it out for them," "everyone is jealous!"

It's amazing that Belichek is still allowed to coach in the NFL.

So, the ESPN and SI stories today...this doesn't stink like the NFL leveraging the media...just a tiny bit?

This is PR damage control for last week's ruling.

Sure seems like that's true...and if that is indeed the case, then it appears that the NFL is both (a) attempting damage control, and (b) setting up Goodell's ouster, since this makes him look really, really bad.

You mean in a way similar to the Wells commissioned report, drawing upon a specific league imposed narrative, and drawing a "more probable than not" conclusion?

That's why I said conspiracy theory experts like Scully and Muldar need to get onto this el pronto.

So what?

Is the content of the articles lessened because of it? "The NFL" is more than just who inhabits the league offices in NY. The articles certainly don't paint Goodell and the league in a favorable light; quite the opposite if you ask me.

This is about a group of pissed off owners more than anything.
