Rex's pathetic Jets teams were within a field goal of beating New England* twice last season. And that's with Geno imploding every other drive.

He has a TON more talent to work with on this defense than he has had maybe ever, but certainly since Baltimore.

Over the past six years, teams have a 25.9% winning percentage against the Pats including the playoffs.

Rex Ryan's record against the Pats during that time is 33.3%

Tom Brady's QBR against the Rex Ryan defense during that time was 61.8 as opposed to 73.4 against the rest of the league.

Yeah, but coaches who have lost in the playoffs to NE have won (Carroll, Harbaugh, Dungy, Cowher ) or at least coached in the SB (Fox with Denver and Carolina, Reid).

So there's that group and the rest. Rex isn't in that group.

sit back and rush four? I don't know. He's never had 2 pass rushers like Mario and Hughes. Do you really care about statistics? I don't. I only care about wins.

Strong correlation between statistics and wins.

not for us. Led or close to having led the league in sacks and ints for 2 years and no playoffs. They need to stop the right teams when it counts. Sweeping the NFC north and racking up sacks and ints but not being able to stop guys like tannehill, smith or Carr when it counted to win afc games was an issue.

No one knows if they will do it this year but last year with Schwartz was far from perfect. They must be better.

Until his D is better than the Schwartz's I 'll see it when I believe it

Don't let it take the sails out of your wind.

Those teams' quarterbacks say Hi. 🙋 If Taylor can be Daltonesque, watch how much of a better coach Ryan becomes.

I'm just so excited.

I know there are some Rex skeptics around here and I get it.

But putting aside the brashness and the silliness -

The man believes in pressure defenses. He's going to make Tom Brady uncomfortable. He's going to walk up to the bully in the schoolyard and hit him in the mouth. If that results in an ass-kicking, so be it - at least we went down fighting.

I've been so thirsty for this type of mentality and defense. I'm beyond excited. We're never going to sit back and just take it against the Patriots and THAT ALONE has me looking forward to watching football again. SO MANY TIMES the past ten years, the Patriots have come up here and made it look like a goddamn practice. I'm done with that sh-.

Now let's go eat a mother- snack.

I know feeling this all too well. So many games where the Bills never hit him even once. It was like he had the red, practice pinney on. Sure, he's a HOFer but he looks much different when harassed. They all do. Super Bowl 42 was the blueprint and the Bills have never really been able to follow it. Here's hoping.
