But he's still bitter. From 4 days ago:

Pretty clear that Doug Whaley is freeing up money to keep "Dime A Dozen" Dareus happy.

Does he really think players like Dareus are a "dime a dozen"?

no, he's bitter because Dareus said he felt like he was being treated like a dime a dozen player in that interview after the 2nd PS game. Sully was offended. To be fair it was a dumb comment by Dareus but I didn't take it too seriously. sully took it personally. Edited by YoloinOhio

Fortunately Dareus is now resigned long term so dipsh*t can try to chase him out of town any longer...

I don't think so. I think he's referring back to Marcell's own "dime a dozen" quote when he was asked about how the contract negotiations were going.

Edit: But it's still pretty clear Jerry is being a petulant douche.

Regarding "dime a dozen comment":

Only people (like Sully) who are looking to be offended (or feign offense) pretended to be offended.

He was going through the negotiation process. Very simple. It also does not look like he held out for every last nickel (or in this case dime) in agreeing to the deal that is being reported.

The point is that championship teams haven't typically been using this much cap space on the dline. Especially on the interior positions. DTs and RBs are not the key to NFL success.

I don't know the specifics of how much money they had in the DL, but the Giants teams that beat the Pats* were pretty well known for great DL's that could pressure the QB without the aid of extra blitzers

Giants won 2 recent Super bowls with strength at Dline. Baltimore recently had Ngata & Suggs. Patriots early Super bowls Seymour was their best player and added Wilfork.

Not a popular opinion, but this seems like too much money for a DT. Dareus, Suh and McCoy don't really have a lot of playoff victories among them.

Dareus defines how your offense can play football. He is such a force against the run, you have to gameplan around him. He provides consistant pass pressure up the middle and saves you from needing to blitz up the gut to get that. He singlehandedly collapses the pocket.

Worthe every penny.

Yes. Anyone have a clue? B-)

@spotrac

Somewhat difficult to tell where the #Bills have decided to allocate the bulk of their $ right now (Combined AAV).

Great graphic, thanks for sharing. Very interesting. Hopefully kyles play stays at a high level. Might be hard to pay some of our other guys over the next few years.

Love us some sacks in Buffalo :) great identity to have imo
