YoloinOhio Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 @ProFootballTalk: Steelers get to 53, cutting veteran OL Doug Legursky and adding CB Ross Cockrell http://t.co/sMTawu07FI
Bangarang Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 It's going to take more than Cockrell to fix that defense. Whoof
Coach Tuesday Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Much better fit in that defense - he's a decent player when he can keep his eyes on the ball. Was never going to survive in Rex's turn-and-cover scheme.
Jamie Nails Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Anyone else find it awesome that the steelers cut one of our cast-offs for one of our cast-offs? Granted legGoatski was once their cast-off.

Granted legGoatski was once their cast-off. I don't find it awesome that one of our cast-offs is a blown fourth round pick from 2014. That's pretty inexcusable. Mettenburger would look good in this offense.

That system changes, they don't fit, to team has to move on. Big reason why teams that have a lot of instability at the HC position continue to lose. They can't develop a lot of their draft picks. And the new staff has no investment in them. Let's hope the Bills can start having some stability. Edited September 5, 2015 by YoloinOhio

YoloinOhio Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 Agree. However, with Cockrell, I never saw him even once flash anything that was positive. saw some tweets that the Steelers loved him at draft time, and they are really in need of CB depth. I've never seen anything from him either.
djp14150 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Steelers need to cut their sponsorship with Burger King

Not for the sake of it like RB says, but, to really build from the top down! I BILLieve we have that structure and stability now! Go Bills! Playoffs here we come!

Mettenburger would look good in this offense. Good teams will wind up cutting some draft picks from rounds 4-7. Especially after coaching changes. Cockrell was a very good college player, but he hadn't flashed much in his time in B-Lo. And as far as Mettenburger, he's so good the Titans drafted another QB to replace him. Maybe he will turn out to be some teams answer at the position, but it's not like it's a given. Taylor already looks good in this offense. Hopefully preseason play translates to next Sunday and beyond.
