Duke Williams posted an image on Instagram that implies that Jonathan Meeks was cut.

He would have been at some point.

Hogan has proven himself in real games. To cut him and keep rookies who have no more than flashed would have been stupidity. He and Goodwin are still vulnerable though... if they keep Thigpen as a WR and returner.

What has be "proven"? He had a whopping 426 yards last season. Edited by JTSP

he was the type that is a good flyer and could probably be effective with the right fit, but when changing coaching staffs, those guys often dont make out well.

though in his case, he was probably screwed if we kept DW/NH too.

Who are DW and NH? Sorry but i have no clue what you are talking about.

Look at Goodwins stats.

If Easley isn't a WR what was he doing in the Pittsburgh game?

Easley is no more than a last resort receiver option in the regular season and Thigpen is basically a specialist. They might list him as a receiver but he is a specialist returner and no more.

His comment related to keeping Hogan over rookies because he'd "proven himself" in real games. Lol @ 426 yard season = "proof"

That he is a very good 4 or a serviceable 3 at worst. To cut him and keep Lewis who according to Rex had a decent game last night and one good day of practice or indeed any other maybe rookie would be madness.

That's the best cost/benefit move we've made this decade though

That's called opportunity cost, one in which the Bills profited immensely. No more Debbie Downer Doug.

Go look at what other 3s around the league had... especially those 3s that were in poor QB situations. Hogan's production stands up to that scrutiny.

yeah we dont want to lose those 400 yards of production. Gonna be tough to replace that lol

Point was that he isn't injury prone and is at least reliable. 426 yards compared to Goodwins 325 in 2 seasons. And Hogan was healthy the whole time. Goodwin can't stay healthy.

When in doubt blame the QB. So I guess it was smiths fault he didn't last with 9ers, Eli's he didn't make it with giants, and tannehills not with dolphins either. Lol Edited by JTSP

And it is easy to project those numbers on someone else not so easy for them to live up to the projections.

On the bright side...they can only cut Fred once.

I can imagine a world in which we sign him again over Whaley's protests for 3 years to meet his goal and then cut him after one.

No. Hogan has matured as a player each year. His numbers stand up against some 3s that had QBs as well. Hogan is criminally underrated around here.

Yeah, the webmaster screwed up, the list only had 15 names on it, but Bills announced they cut 16 players.

Buffalo Bills should be like Verizon and contract the work to India rather than Chicago.

This is one part of organization which has not gotten better with Pegulas takeover.

@mikerodak

Bills have waived safety Jonathan Meeks after trying to trade him, Im told. If not claimed, he could re-sign to practice squad.

Really...I thought he was safe because he's from Clemson.
