Pete Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 .... $47.5mm? wow, we need to cut him. lol misplaced . Eric Wood is due $4.1million a season through 2017. He better have a good season this year
GunnerBill Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 lol misplaced . Eric Wood is due $4.1million a season through 2017. He better have a good season this year To get us under the cap for 2016 and 17 I ended up cutting Wood at the end of this season on the overthecap simulator. That just about with some creative accounting allows you to keep the 4 pending major FAs.
8-8 Forever? Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) Not a shocker. Saves the team $ no big deal, they will be running the ball 35 times game and playing defense and ST. EJ seems fine, just a late bloomer. QB is not as big a deal this season. go with the young guys. young mans game. old guys like Cassell and Fred cost $8m , don't play and are just get hurt and miss time. take the savings in $$ and give it to Dareus. is what it is. PartyZombies Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Not surprised, that's a lot of money to pay for a veteran presence that can't seem to win a starting job on any team he's been on. I'd rather see EJ and TT than waste big bucks on Cassel. Pay the 4 big FA's and move on.
eball Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 His 6 yard outs will be missed. I'm telling ya, Matt Cassel and Scott Chandler would have made beautiful music together this year. The "three 4-yd outs and a cloud of dust" offense.
benderbender Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 With 2 scrambling QBs, we're going to need 3rd QB by midseason
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) BB, I want EJ to succeed so bad, but isn't that a bit of an oxymoron? The myth of the "EJ Long Ball" is starting to gain traction. But if you take away EJ's 51 yd touchdown to Deonte Thompson in the Carolina game, and then, if you take away his 31 yd pass to Gragg and his 14 yd TD pass to Davis in the Cleveland game, AND then take away his 61 yd TD bomb to Clay and the 37 yd TD pass to Tobias Palmer his stats aren't so hot! He'd only be 15 of 30 for 164 yards and NO TDs. Sure, you might say he still didn't get intercepted once, but that doesn't mean he's not inaccurate. [/runEJouttatownmob]

reddogblitz Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Cutting Matt saves $47.5 million cutting Fred saved $2.5 million Suh got 6 years $114 million = $19 million a year There is $7 million more to add to Dareus offer Just think of all the cap money if we DONT resign Marcel! I thought we were playing to win THIS YEAR. Sounds like we have been playing for next year so long it is a hard habit to break.

Every single one of these TD passes would have been a pick 6 in the regular season AND Cassel only checks down before September. A regular season pass rush would caused EJ to injure both knees and fumble. Really the only pass that EJ throws in the regular season is the incompletion to Davis in the flat. People need to stop pretending all these facts don't exist....
