Augie Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I already changed it, can't change it again for 180 days. So..... Freddie is not dead, but merely on IR for a while. I love Fred, so I can live with that.
reddogblitz Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Seahawks are gonna feel really dumb when they figure out Fred is old and slow and expensive.
HalftimeAdjustment Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Seahawks are gonna feel really dumb when they figure out Fred is old and slow and expensive. He is probably not expensive on their terms.
Deranged Rhino Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Good for Fred. I expect him to do well there.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Seahawks are gonna feel really dumb when they figure out Fred is old and slow and expensive. yeah he looked real old and slow when busted out for that 41 yd TD run in game 3
Kelly the Dog Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 That's a terrific spot for him. He won't play a lot or put up numbers unless Marshawn gets hurt but he will definitely be a valuable backup. He makes a top team better, what else do you want for probably $1-1.5m. Making Marshawn happy is also a bonus that probably cannot be quantified. The Seahawks players will love him.

BADOLBILZ Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 yikes - getting rid of all their young guys to roll with a 34 yr old backup? Chrissy was a disappointment as a 2nd round pick, but that's odd... A tired Fredderall Jackson is a big improvement over their backups. They pretty much stink. And Fred is used to running behind bad OL's like Seattle has. On a related note......see what Seattle is doing at center. Unger was a high quality center but they didn't hesitate to trade him in the Jimmy Graham deal. Comes down to personnel. When you have a QB who can rip off a 40 yard gain when you don't contain him you just need a JAG at center because teams can't afford to shoot gaps and leave holes exposed. If Taylor keeps up the good play it will make Eric Wood look like a passable NFL center again and will allow for him to be cut next year in place of an unknown like Seattle is doing.
Matt in KC Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I'm surprised they are moving on from Turbin. I thought he was one of the better backup running backs in the league. I guess they are struggling to find the roster space.
billsfan714 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Happy for Freddie, he deserves to ride into the sunset on a good team and experience the playoffs and possibly a SB.
HalftimeAdjustment Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Seahawk bobblehead saying the contract is worth approximently $ 870K. That would be the minimum for his years of experience. Seattle gets to take a reduced cap hit at that figure. Also the contract could include up to $65k in bonuses or incentives, the source may not know if this is the case. Anything above that would eliminate the "reduced cap hit" and be unlikely. If Fred wanted to get more than the vet minimum he would have had to get interest from multiple teams. That may not have been the case, or his preference for Seattle was strong enough that it was not worth scraping for $100k. As noted elsewhere if be is on the roster by week 1 his salary is guaranteed so that may have been the biggest incentive of all to sign the minimum deal as soon as it was offered.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 @Fred22Jackson ITS BEEN REAL BUFFALO!! Can't Thank all the fans enough 4 the support U've shown me over the years #BillsMafia
