Deranged Rhino
It's not nearly as silly as comparing postwar Europeans to the huddled masses trudging across Hungary at the moment. Completely disagree. You act as if there were no refugees in Europe post WW2, there were MILLIONS. Not everyone stayed in one place and rebuilt. LeviF
Completely disagree. You act as if there were no refugees in Europe post WW2, there were MILLIONS. Not everyone stayed in one place and rebuilt. And you act as though this massive influx of people from an entirely different part of the world will have no negative consequences. There isn't a chance that they'll assimilate or contribute more than they take. Merkel is the same woman who five years ago said that multiculturalism is a failure and that immigrants to Germany had failed to assimilate. Nothing has changed, the same thing will happen here. Meanwhile: Many of those migrants believe that using a fake document – or having none at all – gives them a better chance of receiving asylum in Germany and other western European states. That's because the surest route to asylum is to be a refugee from war and not an economic migrant fleeing poverty. That fact has led to a huge influx of people claiming to be Syrian. Serbian border police say that 90 per cent of those arriving from Macedonia, about 3000 a day, claim they are Syrian, although they have no documents to prove it. The so-called Balkan corridor for the migrant flight starts in Turkey, then goes through Macedonia and Serbia before entering the European Union in Hungary. http://www.smh.com.au/world/migrant-crisis-pakistanis-others-dumping-ids-to-become-syrian-20150906-gjggcn.html Edited September 9, 2015 by LeviF91

Meanwhile: http://www.smh.com.au/world/migrant-crisis-pakistanis-others-dumping-ids-to-become-syrian-20150906-gjggcn.html As for the bolded, there were plenty of vocal opponents who shared similar concerns when the US and the UN resettled a large, post war Jewish population into an area of the Middle East which was, at the time, 95% non Jewish in population. Of course there will be consequences -- but there will be far worse consequences by doing nothing and pretending the problem isn't a problem at all. I am not taking the stance that every single person claiming to be a refugee is indeed a refugee. The only stance I've taken is that this is a growing problem, caused either directly or indirectly by largely the US and Europe -- ignoring it isn't a possibility. Solutions must be found. Pretending it isn't happening, or is in some way analogous to the US immigration debate is not helpful, nor accurate.
Dante
Because doing nothing will not solve the problem nor stem the flow of refugees pouring into their countries. Doing nothing is the only option not available to Europe. So we have to pay the price for a inferior culture? Only way to help these idiots is to actually run the country for them. Some would call that imperialism. I would call it humanitarianism. Some never have and never will change.

We don't have to do anything -- which is what we're doing now. We should accept and pay the price for the role the US (and its allies) played in causing this refugee crisis in both Syria and Iraq. Not doing so will only cost us more in the long run.

Now your onto something. But we the people shouldn't have to pay the price. Obama and Hillary should pay. They had no business taking out Libya and Syria. But they knew exactly what they were doing. Obama and Hillary should be arrested for treason. Then we should lock the borders down. Then, in global coalition effort, the Islamic jihadists should be smited from the earth. Then we can work with the sane people in the region to build their own independent, productive economies. That should happen, but of course it won't. Global elite want the west broken down. Cause chaos so they can come to the rescue and further lock us down under control. There is no randomness or even incompetence going on here. Only evil. All this administration did was sit back, let others take the lead, then try to claim the credit.

Ozymandius
From February: ISIS has threatened to flood Europe with half a million migrants from Libya in a 'psychological' attack against the West, it was claimed today. Transcripts of telephone intercepts published in Italy claim to provide evidence that ISIS is threatening to send 500,000 migrants simultaneously out to sea in hundreds of boats in a 'psychological weapon' against Europe if there is military intervention against them in Libya. Many would be at risk of drowning with rescue services unable to cope. But authorities fear that if numbers on this scale arrived, European cities could witness riots. The ISIS smuggler, who is in his thirties and is described as having a trimmed jet-black beard, revealed the ongoing clandestine operation is a complete success. "Just wait," he smiled. http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/555434/Islamic-State-ISIS-Smuggler-THOUSANDS-Extremists-into-Europe-Refugees Oh yeah, Obama is going to take in 10,000 of these jihadists into America
