Wood Kupper Gaines Richardson Mullligan Simms D. Williams Larsen Henderson Fluellen Palmer Lewis, Simms, O'Leary to practice squad if they clear waivers What do I win? jwhit34
My cuts: Matt Cassel Matt Simms (practice squad) John Connor Bronson Hill Nick O'Leary (practice squad) Tobias Palmer Dezmin Lewis (practice squad) Andre Davis (practice squad) Deonte Thompson William Campbell Dalton Freeman DJ Johnson Alex Kupper Andre Fluellen Alex Carrington BJ Larsen Quentin Groves Kevin Reddick IR - Tony Steward (I think he got hurt) Merrill Noel Cierre Wood Red Bryant That's 22, leaves them with 7 WRs but I really think Thigpen makes it because he is such a good punt returner. I think you are real close. My guess is Red Bryant stays. I am not sure I would risk losing Matt Simms on the practice squad. If Tyrod got hurt, we would be in a real bind. Also, I think 1 of Steward and Reddick stay. We are thin at LB

Pete
Some of the easiest cuts are on oline. Most of us only have us carrying 3 tackles and 3 guards. It's a long season. We will need to find some backups on the line

Nihilarian
I think they should re-sign Fred and then cut him again the next morning. Me too, and give him a 2.5 mill signing bonus.

Big C
I'm not worried about Simms making the P/S - Dezmin Lewis I don't think would clear waivers. Dez Lewis pretty much showed nothing this preseason. I wouldn't worry about him. I'd worry more about Andre Davis.

I'm a tad worried about McCoy being unable to play and having to start a rookie RB with a 1st time starter QB. Doesn't spell success. Granted Whaley may have burned that bridge, although Fred would play for the fans I'd think.

Goodwin to IR if eligible opens up another spot. And Leodis to IR if he is still not ready for the next 4 games or so. And Carpenter is on the verge with Rex. If he is cut, and we add another kicker, that would open another spot up- see you Gay.

We are going to need another Tackle. I don't know where we will get him, but we will need one, at least on PS. I hope we can do better then just a PS OT. In your model, though, we are keeping 4 TE's, which I still find interesting. In my head I cannot determine which is better. Keeping Mulligan primarily as a blocking TE who will get maybe 15 passes thrown his way at best or getting an OT like Tyson Chandler/someone else to be used as the blocking TE and maybe catch a pass here or there? If it was not for McKelvin we would have it much easier, cutting one of the CB's and going for either that OL or Carrington/Fluellen/Groves. Then again, 7 WR's are on your list. The whole Carpenter thing, I want to sleep on it.
GunnerBill
So my cuts - it is difficult because I am not 100% sure on injury statuses of a number of players but here goes: 20 full cuts Matt Simms QB (possible PS contender) John Connor FB Bronson Hill RB Cierre Wood RB (possible PS contender) Andre Davis WR (possible PS contender) Dez Lewis WR (possible PS contender) Tobias Palmer WR Nick O'Leary TE (possible PS contender) William Campbell G Dalton Freeman C Darryl Johnson T Alex Kupper G Andre Fluellen DT BJ Larsen DE Quentin Groves LB Randell Johnson LB Jonathan Meeks S Merril Noel CB Dan Carpenter K Jordan Gay KOS 1 Injured Reserve Tony Steward 1 Injured Reserve - designated for return Marquise Goodwin 1 Post week 1 cut Alex Carrington ----------------------------------- This actually cuts 23 leaving me with 52 players (plus Carrington for week 1) but I think we cut both kickers and try and sign one guy who can do both jobs. Rex sounded like he had had enough last night and I think both feel the axe. I am heading towards Cassel surviving and I think there is a real chance that they keep 5 out and out receivers plus Easley and Thigpen for special teams value given that they cut the extra kicker. Time to move on from Goodwin and Hogan. I don't think they weren't going to see the field all that much with Watkins, Woods, and Harvin, ahead of them, so why not give the young guys a shot.
