birdog1960 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) wow. why didn't anyone ever think of this before? http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/walker-building-wall-along-canadian-border-legitimate-issue/ "This is why I sit on the beach up on Lake Superior in my lawn chair, .38 special in my jacket pocket - just waiting for those socialists to wash up on the beach... coming here to drink bland beer, to make our bacon round and Steal Our Women Folk!!! ...Someone needs to tell Scotty that in addition to a really really long wall, we will need a really really big net as well." B-Large Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 He didn't propose a wall in that article, simply said it merits discussion. I don't know if he formally proposed a wall as part of a platform, maybe he did, I haven't seen it. We have a discussion about forming an official Colorado extra terrestrial preparedness committee around ballot time, nobody really supports or votes for it.

B-Man Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Sorry birddog, this is what the left does to try and create BS distractions. As B-Large pointed out, Governor Walker "proposed" no such thing. He was asked a question about border security from Canada on Meet the Press and he answered. Here's what he posted later after the media laughingly tried to push this 'controversy' Scott Walker ✔ @ScottWalker Law enforcement expressed concerns to me about border security. I won’t ignore them. - SW #Walker16 3:11 PM - 30 Aug 2015
B-Large Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) You should reconsider your position on this matter. Here's what he posted later after the media laughingly tried to push this 'controversy' Exactly B, I have seen this taken out of context a few places, a little reading comprehension and critical thought exposes the ruse easily. It's kind of a loaded issue, if you say there is no discussion about a northern wall you hate Mexicans, you say it merits a discussion you get smeared as ludicrous and crazy. ExiledInIllinois Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 The used submarine nets @ the Soo Locks back in WWII... Time to bring those bad boyz out of mothball! :-O
DC Tom Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 He didn't propose a wall in that article, simply said it merits discussion. No, it doesn't. It merits laughter. A 5000-mile wall on the Canadian border? A "wall" on any border is at best useless, at worst counter-productive to security.
ExiledInIllinois Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 No, it doesn't. It merits laughter. A 5000-mile wall on the Canadian border? That was mentioned in the news weeks ago before Captain Hairpiece "The Donald" came up w/his brilliant plan. Now Walker is on it like stink on sh*t. We have the full Republican/Tea braintrust stuck in 2 beer high gear. Maybe JEB will want a wall between Cuba and FLA.

All ideas can be considered in a discussion about border security and immigration, it's part of the process, but I doubt we'll be handing out Canadian Border Wall building contracts anytime too soon.

The 911 terrorists hoofed it overland and into Maine. Old Scotty is onto to something!
3rdnlng Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Well, if there is going to be a wall between Canada and the U.S.,those !@#$ing bacon and maple syrup eaters are going to not only pay for it, but build it.

Reading comprehension? Wow, your opinions are really not worth considering at all. What type of moron would even think this is worth any thought, discussion or time at all? This has been part of my argument about Trump. It's not all about him, it's the fact that the rest of the GOP field is full of nobodies and losers "That is a legitimate issue for us to look at," the Republican presidential candidate said on NBC's Meet the Pressprogram. http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-08-30/scott-walker-building-a-wall-along-u-s-border-with-canada-a-legitimate-issue-
Magox Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) Well, not surprisingly Bird dog's characterization of this is akin to the FB-meme-like chart's that he like's to post, meaning that it's devoid of reality. Did Scott Walker "propose" the idea to build a wall on the northern border? No. However, this is just YET another moment for Scott Walker when he goes off script, he shows that he isn't ready for prime time. The idea that we would have to "look at it" because it's a "legitimate issue" is absurd. I had Scott Walker as one of my top choices a couple months ago, but he has continuously flubbed, backtracked and waffled on a number of issues. Don't get me wrong, his stand on the public sector unions won all sorts of kudos from me but all off too often, he's showing that he just isn't up to the task. I'm not going to completely write him off, but he isn't one of my top tier choices anymore. I view this whole thing as a horse race and Bush and Walker have now fallen off from the top of the pack. For the type of candidate that I am looking for, Rubio and Kasich are at the top with Fiorina making a strong push from the back. Edited August 31, 2015 by Magox

4merper4mer Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3rdnlng Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 lighten up, francis! it's funny in an absurd kinda way, isn't it? What's funny? Your intentional misrepresentation in the title to this thread or your glee over the reactions to a lie? How about I start a thread titled "Birdog Proposes That Mothers Be Allowed To Kill Their Babies"? In all honesty that has more truth to it than your title.

All ideas, or just the ones based in reality? Because if it's all ideas, when do we discuss lining the borders with lasers to vaporize illegal border crossers?
....lybob Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Too late Rafael (Ted) Cruz already got through.
DC Tom Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Too late Rafael (Ted) Cruz already got through. And you think THIS racism is acceptable?
B-Man Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 And you think THIS racism is acceptable? Tom...........................I'm surprised at you. You know that any 'minority' that espouses conservative values automatically forfeits their "protected" status. It's impossible for a lib to be racist towards a right-winger. That's Leftism 101 .
