CountryCletus Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I'm cutting Hogan and IR'ing Goodwin (for the season, saving my re-entry IR). Here's my list: Sammy Bobby Percy Deonte Andre Marcus Dez and Tobais to the PS if they clear waivers I've been wrong before.... My opinion is that there is NO way we cut Hogan to keep Davis... My WRs are Sammy Woods Harvin Easley Hogan Thompson I could see them IR'ing Goodwin if the injury justifies.... If he would be ready for week 1, it's a coon toss between him and Thompson... With the speed and talent all over the field, needing Goodwins speed to hide glaring holes on offense isn't a necessity anymore... If he could catch the football reliably, it would be a different story...
LeGOATski Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 it's a coon toss between him and Thompson... I'd like to see that.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I`ve been a Easley fan for yrs. All he does is catch balls every pre-season.
Webster Guy Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I think Andre Davis makes it for sure. You could see Roman spending time with him on the sidelines, the kid has made plays and worked hard. Seems to get it. Im assuming he can block. I can see Harvin out with injuries most games this year, (as is usual with him and every other small receiver in the league) and Andre getting some time to help this team as the 3rd WR

mountainwampus Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I've always thought Easley was underrated as a wideout... However, yesterday I saw something that made me think twice... Marcus was really sucking wind after a couple of those plays... Doubled over at some points.... How's his heart? -Can we totally dismiss that heart scare he had a couple years back? I like the kd a whole lot... Prefer it if he stayed on this side of the turf. I noticed that he was looking very fatigued, but he had just hauled in 6 passes in a row and a few of them were all out superman dives.
CountryCletus Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I'd like to see that. WOW!!! What a horrible autocorrect... More likely I just fat fingered two O's.... Wow....

But Deonte and Andre have outplayed him, injury or not. I don't like cutting Hogan and IR'ing Goodwin, but we don't need these guys when we have other possession and speed guys with a higher ceiling. Also, LOVE the raccoon toss idea. Edited August 30, 2015 by Fred Jackson Jockstrap
Mr. WEO Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I don't see a circumstance, barring several injuries, where Easley gets on the field as a target at WR.

TPS Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Easley has talent, and was pretty raw when the Bills got him. He most likely was never a good NFL caliber route runner, and I'm sure he, as much as anyone at the WR position, has been helped tremendously by Lal.

billsfan_34 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) Easley quietly had a very nice game and did a nice job blocking downfield too. Easley will make the roster and contribute. Edited August 31, 2015 by billsfan_34
Hapless Bills Fan Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 It was only preseason, the Steelers pass defense was full of holes, but Marcus Easley caught everything throw his way, maybe by different QB, and made nice catches including one absolute gem on the right side. Forget the debate about Hogan and Goodwin (hurt) , get Marcus Easley some playing time. Dude can catch the ball from what I was seeing! Go Bills. Easley sees playing time - a lot of playing time - on ST where he is our gunner. Think Steve Tasker - the man could run routes, the man could catch, the man could block, and the man was more valuable to the Bills playing punts and kickoffs. Bottom line Goodwin and Hogan can't play ST. Easley can, so even though he's a good WR......

Bottom line Goodwin and Hogan can't play ST. Easley can, so even though he's a good WR...... Agree, Heard number of different times that receiver coaches wanted Tasker to play more WR during season, but Head Coach valued him too much for his special teams, and didn't want to risk him getting hurt or being tired out for his primary role. Think that Easley is in same situation, but not quite the level as Tasker was as a WR yet. From what I remember don't believe Easley even knew the receiving tree when he was drafted. He had to learn it, and right about when things were coming around his ailments started. When he came back, and showed his values as special teams, think they felt with his past heart issues, and fact didn't have full offseason, or camp for that matter, was better to use him as a specialist only. Think he will rarely see the field, unless injuries occur, because he is so good at special teams that they cant afford to risk him.
