When the bullets mattered, while they all performed well, it appeared Taylor won, followed closely by EJ and lastly Cassel. Perspective being taken is who was most effective scoring and maximizing mismatches for the opposing defense. Cassel is not better than a Trent Edwards and in a league who tilts the favor towards QB's and receivers, the weak armed, habitual check down guy gives away the benefits league provides to passers these days. Next two weeks will be interesting...

Obviously he was nowhere near as exciting as Tyrod or as impressive as EJ but he would march the team steadily down the field with consistency, finding the open guy and delivering accurate throws.

That is not "fine." That's the definition of a QB who will have stalled drive after stalled drive.

He's complete over 87 percent of his passes in both games he's played in so far. I'd rather have Tyrod or EJ start but Cassel starting would hardly be a disaster, especially with the weapons he'd be surrounded with.

If a player completes 87 percent of their passes their YPA should be through the roof. Any NFL QB can complete 80+ percent of their passes if all passes are within 5 yards of the LoS. That's not going to get the job done though. As Jaworski has said for years, points come from big plays. An offense can not rely on 12+ play drives to consistently get points. At some point in that drive there is going to be a mistake that kills it. A hold, offsides, drops, turnovers, etc.

Give your definition of fine Fine as in the production of last years qbs? (which held us back from getting tot he playoffs) He looks like he cannot throw to the intermediate to deep level of the field with any confidence.....when teams start game planning they will focus on our run, invite Cassell to make those throws......and drives will end up being long or get cut short by the eventual penalty.
