MDH Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 If he is not the starter then he is on the cusp of the bench, would be better for him and us if he is traded than a backup. This team hasn't had a quality QB in forever yet you want to trade a guy who has made progress for a 3rd or 4th round pick? Why? What if Taylor can't cut it? Then what? We're back to square one. Keep 'em both and hope one of them pans out.
Solomon Grundy Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Would it be better to trade TT or EJ and get more for them knowing that both can run this offense and Cassel is an adequate backup and even Simms looks solid? Would get a lot more for one of them than Cassel, who would get us nothing in a trade. I would trade EJ because he is more prototype and would get us more in return. You wanna trade EJ and draft an unproven QB?

ScrewyLouie Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I would trade any one of them for Tom Brady straight up. Or I would trade any one of the three for a 1st round pick. Other than that you might as well keep them all.
Dr. Fong Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Where's the "Why'd you waste my time with this stupid @#$%?" button?
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 Where's the "Why'd you waste my time with this stupid @#$%?" button? so don't read it
justnzane Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 hahaha no... If you think that any of them could be the guy still, but not sure, then you don't trade.
TSOL Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 If they are both really as good as they looked today, you can't keep them both. I keep the guy with all the TD passes
Luap22 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 After the dreadful years, this talk about minimum value for TT or EJ is nuts. Be grateful for both, we will need both. We are one collusion away from disaster. We could even rotate in the beginning if one fits the game style, as a second resort. Talking about unknown draft choices versus our "proven" quality now is crazy. Bask in the Pitts victory. Look at the history of unproven draft choices We need to keep this team intact. Go Bills
QuoteTheRaven83 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Or we can just cut Cassel like I've been sayin forever now, and keep EJ and Tyrod.
Saxum Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 We did trade for Tarvaris and never even dressed him for a game so ... Yeah but what you are suggesting is REAL dump like trading Mario Williams for an untested college QB
eball Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 To quote a recent article on the topic, "your trade proposal sucks." Keep repeating this to yourself until you no longer feel compelled to start threads like this.
PolishDave Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 You can't trade either one because we still haven't seen either one perform this year against teams that have actually game planned against them and designed defenses to minimize their strengths and exploit any perceived weaknesses. Until you see how they perform in the regular season, it would be nuts to trade away either of them. Trade Cassel to a team outside the AFC East who will give us a reasonably decent corner back.

Cassel has no trade value so let's stop talking about trading him for a high draft pick or a moderately decent player. Probably wouldn't even work in Madden.
Luxy312 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Put down the Madden game and come back to reality. There's not a chance that any of the three get traded for anything based on their work in the preseason. EJ and TT both looked solid yesterday. TT was more methodical moving the ball down the field, but EJ blew me away with his deep throws. It's what I've been wanting to see since they drafted him. Why would you even try to trade either of them? Every team in the NFL needs two guys that can run their system. Cassel is not one of those guys and he couldn't be traded for a bag of cashews. Peanuts maybe.
PolishDave Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Cassel has no trade value so let's stop talking about trading him for a high draft pick or a moderately decent player. Probably wouldn't even work in Madden. Disagree. There are other teams who need a serviceable veteran backup quarterback aren't there? Like one of these teams perhaps: Philly, Cardinals, Giants, Lions, Dallas, Chargers, Seattle
Hapless Bills Fan Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) What I want to know is who is the dufus who voted for "both"? Is Cassel posting here? Or Simms? Edited August 30, 2015 by Hopeful
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Why trade either? No trade will make the team better now and at this point I think everyone wants the team to be better NOW
