Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) Would it be better to trade TT or EJ and get more for them knowing that both can run this offense and Cassel is an adequate backup and even Simms looks solid? Would get a lot more for one of them than Cassel, who would get us nothing in a trade. I would trade EJ because he is more prototype and would get us more in return. FluffHead Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Yesterday would have said EJ. Today I say neither though I fully endorse Tyrod as starter
BarleyNY Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Nope. This is the QB position we're talking about. If either TT or EJ has any chance to be a quality QB - and I think they do have some chance - then you don't throw that away for a mid round pick. F that. Ride this out.
K D Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 What are we going to get? A 7th round pick or a backup player? Who cares. I'd rather have 3 good QB's and see how things play out

I'd rather have 3 good QB's and see how things play out I think he is worth a three, which is where he was rated in the draft. (Cleveland just called me about offers, gotta go)
MarkAF43 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I think he is worth a three, which is where he was rated in the draft. (Cleveland just called me about offers, gotta go) No one is giving up a third for either of them. This whole premise is flawed.

jeffismagic Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Manuel is going nowhere. He is finally getting real NFL coaching and is looking like he is on the cusp.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 No one is giving up a third for either of them. This whole premise is flawed. He's worth a three, didn't say we'd get it. I wouldn't trade for less than a 4rth
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 Manuel is going nowhere. He is finally getting real NFL coaching and is looking like he is on the cusp. If he is not the starter then he is on the cusp of the bench, would be better for him and us if he is traded than a backup. Trade Cassel for a 6th or 7th. 6 or 7 ain't worth trading for unless they cut him which I doubt.
MarkAF43 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 He's worth a three, didn't say we'd get it. I wouldn't trade for less than a 4rth Teams wouldn't offer a 4th. We'd be lucky to get a 5th forTT and a 6-7 for EJ
Big C Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Who was it that said the most important position is your starting QB and the second most important is backup? That's how I feel. Don't trade EJ because he might not start. Keep him because he will play lights out if anything happens to Taylor.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 That's wishful thinking my friend. Nobody in the league is that dumb We did trade for Tarvaris and never even dressed him for a game so ...
Beef Jerky Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 The Bills have a hole at QB... Let's trade one!
Big C Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 If he is not the starter then he is on the cusp of the bench, would be better for him and us if he is traded than a backup. 6 or 7 ain't worth trading for unless they cut him which I doubt. 6th or 7th is worth it to get the $$ off the books and take a flyer on a guy who is young and talented. I think Gragg looks great this preseason!
Augie Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 The biggest investment in these guys has been time. You don't give that away for a mid to late round pick and throw away the chance that the investment turns into gold.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 Teams wouldn't offer a 4th. We'd be lucky to get a 5th forTT and a 6-7 for EJ Most teams don't like those run around QBs, I think EJ is worth more to a more traditional offense. The Bills have a hole at QB... Let's trade one! A whole? Looks pretty well filled in I would say.
MarkAF43 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Most teams don't like those run around QBs, I think EJ is worth more to a more traditional offense. With the history of EJ no team would offer more than a 5th rounder. He hasn't proven to be more than that yet.
