Best Player Available
I remember him most for shattering backboards and naming his dunks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtJawsitMsA never would have thought of that but remember it now. especially the backboards. I think he did it twice (?) i know of in the NBA. First guy i saw that happen to, that was awhile ago.RIP

ChevyVanMiller
http://www.tmz.com/2015/08/27/darryl-dawkins-dies-nba-dunk-legend-dead-at-58/ I got to meet him a few years back at a Buffalo Silverbacks game. He was coaching the opposing ABA team. I took a 76ers pennant with me and asked him for an autograph. He was very kind and seemed very appreciative of being remembered from his playing days. He was one of the all-time dunk kings of the NBA and will br greatly missed. Edited August 28, 2015 by ChevyVanMiller

Marv's Neighbor
I remember watching him play. Before the game, the announcer would be making the player intros, and they would always give the player name and where they went to school. When they got to Dawkins, they would give his name, and instead of a school, they would say "from the planet Lovetron!" Very funny, at the time. Seems like he should be older than 58? RIP none the less.
