ALF Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 (edited) If I heard Schopp right , he thinks Foles is a poor QB. If he is right on that one then he is a better judge of QBs then me. Edited August 25, 2015 by ALF
metzelaars_lives Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Schoop goin off about ez pass for like 15 mins right now And yeah awesome to see the thread calling for an end of whining on wgr, ends up with guys whining about Ej supportors OK but why is this a thread in the first place? And why is EJ such a polarizing figure? He's not controversial, he's actually a rather bland dude. Honest question, I have no idea.
3rdand12 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Well done OC. agreed . you have written a fine summation and clarified each of your talking points. I have nothing more to add. Well done indeed. matter of fact mail that F'r in to them for grins. as is. all of them. even Dunne he would maybe get a laugh
LB3 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Alright man, I thought we were cool. I actually like you. You were one of three posters that was willing to go on record as saying you thought there was a better than 50% chance that EJ would develop into a franchise QB for the Bills*. I clearly cannot help myself and you can throw that oath out the window. Again, you can call me the Brett Favre of TBD. *franchise QB defined as he will be our clear cut starter week 1 2017 Sorry. It's just amusing to throw that at you when you go a little overboard. You have a very rational take on the situation, that you sometimes mix in with insults and hyperbole. That IMO, takes away from what you're saying. No one has to agree with each other, things just get nutty and people dig in more when extremes are thrown out. Some people believe in EJ still and you don't understand it. That's ok. Just let it go. Go Bills!
3rdand12 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Either they silence the media or they control the media. Pick your poison. Like a previous poster said, everybody is wasting their time complaining to WGR. You need to send emails or better yet tweet and post on social media to the advertisers. Preferably the smaller ones like Original Pizza Logs, Outlet Liquor, Belknap Heating and Cooling, Consumers Liquors, and Kaz companies. Advertisers that are small enough to read their complaints. If you make those advertisers nervous, you will make WGR very nervous. Nothing will get them to change their tune faster. I just want less biased, or more informed. not manipulated or inept.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 It's funny how the narrative on here amongst the EJ fanatics back in the Spring was "Meh Cassel, what a joke, STOP TRYING TO MAKE EJ HAPPEN. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Sorry that I chose this post as an example but it hits the prime topic - Please stop with the term EJ fanatics. You don't liked being called an EJ detractor or Anti EJ, or a hater so please do what you ask of others. You also don't like Meh either and yet you continue to use the term. Go back and look these past few days and you will see I no longer use the terms. (well maybe I use Anti EJ crowd as it is the least offensive) As to the last, You will not convert those who think EJ is not a total bust. so ... STOP TRYING TO MAKE EJ HAPPEN. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
TSOL Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 OK but why is this a thread in the first place? And why is EJ such a polarizing figure? He's not controversial, he's actually a rather bland dude. Honest question, I have no idea. I have no clue, hes a pocket passer with an arm, thats my draw to him. Schoop, about 25 mins ago did refer to yesterdays show as being a disaster, and i did hear about 30 mins of the show yesterday and it was, it was an unmitigated disaester. Tho OP did bring up some great points, even though it read like a college thesis, and i fell asleep halfway through it. I did finsh the other half though, after i woke up and made a pot of coffee
1billsfan Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 all these comments get even more credo the the rumor that PEGULAS want to buy their own radio ,tv station ...if they do GR is doomed ,, gee what a terrible idea , If I paid what they paid for the Bills, I'd for sure think about cutting WGR off at the knees by buying a local station and making it the Buffalo Bills station. WGR is such a downer that you almost have to do it for PR reasons. Who wants to have their 60,000 season ticket holders hearing about what a bummer life and being a Bills fan is all the time? What if the organization truly thinks that EJ might still be their future? That is doom for WGR and not because they don't like him, but because the Pegulas and the Bills would no doubt be forced to do their radio business elsewhere knowing it is not a workable situation for them PR-wise. Bet they would hire some former Bills players as hosts. That would be fun to listen to even though it was franchise owned. I'm sure they would let plenty of fans call in and vent at least to show balance.

The same way it's dorky every single time there is a thread where someone refers to there being "a chance" of something, inevitably someone will post a meme of Lloyd Christmas saying "so you're saying there's a chance," which is a) lame and predictable and b) not the quote from the movie. ALF Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 It would be nice if 550 could hire a retired decent NFL scout to do the program.
Rico Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Losman, Trent, E.J.??? No. RJ, JP, EJ. All were major investments at QB, all were young with upside, all were disappointments, all had the same portion of the fanbase putting the player above the team.

Sorry got off track there. unfortunately everything involves chance. What are the chances that the Cheatriots are the only team with playoff wins 12(?) of the last 15 years?? There is always a chance that stars of the team get injured. Anywho. cheers
A Dog Named Kelso Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Haven't read every response on this thread but last night Sal hosted the John Murphy Show and he had on the guy from Bills Digest and Sal and him were in adamant agreement that although EJ looked decent in both preseason games, he dug way too big a hole for himself in camp, that every last reporter and spectator that has attended camp would agree that EJ is a distant third in the QB competition and that barring something totally unforeseen, he has no chance of starting week one. Not my opinion, just telling you what Sal himself said. And as I've stated on here several times, John Murphy, who was the biggest EJ advocate of them all, said after the scrimmage but before the preseason games that the other two QB's have really shown progress and seem to be picking up the offense nicely and that he's just not seeing it with EJ. Again, I have no stake in this, I'm just telling you what John Murphy said. So is there just a massive conspiracy here to undermine EJ Manuel? Could be, I don't know. Not sure why or who that would benefit but I don't know. I will insert my first opinion in this post and say that I actually don't mind Schopp at all and that if EJ Manuel fails it definitely will not be Mike Schopp's fault. It's funny how the narrative on here amongst the EJ fanatics back in the Spring was "Meh Cassel, what a joke, EJ will have no problem beating him out- hey I'll tell ya what, if EJ can't beat out Matt Cassel then I'll even admit it's not happening for him" and now the narrative has shifted to "it's not fair... there's a conspiracy by the media against him... my friend Gus went to camp one day and said EJ looked great... the coaches never gave him a fair shot... Mike Schopp is a meanie... poor coaching from the last regime is still to blame... look at Andy Dalton, he sucks too... I'd still rather have him than Ryan Tannehill (WHAT!?!)" I mean, where does this end guys? I hope you realize that this is turning EXACTLY into a Tim Tebow situation in terms of how those who still believe in him are perceived by rational, objective football fans. And may I remind everyone that the very guy who started this thread said just a few short weeks ago, in black and white, for everyone to see, that Doug Marrone intentionally sabotaged EJ Manuel's career. STOP TRYING TO MAKE EJ HAPPEN. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. You obviously have a stake in being proven right about your feeling the EJ is not going to happen. Your zeal for the inverse is the same as those who want Tebow or EJ to succeed.

You don't want reporting, you want cheerleaders. Yeesh!
Agent 91 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 did you hear what Howard Stern said today..i hate him. I know that old, but holy chit no one forces a single one of you people to listen. To OC...i do believe in reading the tea leaves. When Rex says all three have a start cause EJ started the scrimmage....even a dolt like me says i can read that leaf! and i am pretty damn sure not one person on here has seen even 1/10th of what Sal and JoeB and other media have seen from April on. These guys have been at every single practice...even the ones open in OTA's. Truthfully OC, how many you been to? BTW, I am an EJ fan, and would prefer him to start. I dont think it matters how much they watch. It matters how much they understand. Rex told us all he was not gonna give anything up. His answers to media questions. Are all riddles... and the media and most who think like them took all the bait. There is NO WAY anyone can say they know what Rex is thinking. Will EJ start? I hope not. I think he can be the starter, but i think he still has to win Sammy and Rob back. Gonna take time. Joe B is a putz. And now Sal is starting to sound like him. Sal has a whole hell of a lot of knowledge so im kind of shocked. Listening to those guys talk you would think EJ is in football special ed tripping over his own feet. Tell me this... how is it that he is so god awful in practice. But was the best QB in the scrimmage and runs right in step with the other 2 guys in preseason? Why is it no one mentions Cassels noodle arm? Why is it that no one talks about how he cant complete a pass outside 8 yards with authority? Tyrod, i have not much on him. He is as complete as we have. Bottom line all 3 are not that accurate. I know it doesnt matter to us.... so the media states. But even MATT SIMMS is showing a helluvan arm. My point is... trust your eyes not these Jabronis. They will lower your brain cells a considerable amount
EasternOHBillsFan Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) I have listened to WGR very sparingly over the last week, however, each and every time I have I heard the same 4-5 statements made by multiple hosts, with regard to their coverage of EJ this preseason. These statements are either bereft of logic, or, on par with the whining of a 2nd grader. Once again I heard Jeremy White re-hash this crap this morning, and normally I wouldn't care, but, enough is enough. So let's get to it: 1. "We have been getting emails and tweets that our coverage has been biased against EJ" You don't say? Well, this morining Sal Capaccio said "We aren't as bad off at QB as was expected. It's a tribute to Greg Roman being able to get these QBs ready to play....EVEN EJ." Ah, when you say schit like this, what, exactly, do you expect listeners to conclude? Hey WGR? Fans have observed a clear pattern of behavior from you. Why the F else are you getting the response? Mass Hysteria? A conspiracy to troll you? No. You are causing this problem with comments like that, and instead of introspection, it's blame the fans? I literally heard...what you say you aren't doing...in 2 separate instances this MORNING!, never mind this past week. I like Sal, but, Sal? You chose those words, not the fans. Why throw in the "...even EJ"? Greg Roman has done a good job with all 3 QBs. Well, that is supposedly Sal's premise. Greg Roman is being paid a compliment...so why is the "...even EJ" necessary? It is not. It's totally irrelevent...so why say it? Answer: bias, supporting the choice, made long ago, that EJ == Bad. That's because EJ sucked and he deserves the criticism. He still hasn't developed like he should with the natural abilities he possesses. Quit trying to play the bias card when most everyone knows that there is a REASON why two coaching staffs have now placed EJ in a non-starting role. What must it take for you EJ apologists to get it? Agent 91 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Even simple manners, people call in and say "hey guys how are you doing?" They respond a resolute "fine" nothing more. Yeah folks say don't listen, but the bills talk just offers a missing piece of home u can't get anywhere. Ain't that the truth

Look at the biggest in the industry--like WFAN, who at one point employed two of the dumbest guys in sports radio on the same show (they still employ one of them). The WANT guys like you and OC to get all hot and bothered about their dumb talent's dumb comments. They know you're listening and that's all that matters. And do you really think a Buffalo pizza log company and a liquor store are NOT going to advertise on a channel like WGR...ever? Only prohibitively high ad rates would keep these companies off the channel. They don't care what you think about what Bulldog thinks about EJ Manuel... Edited August 26, 2015 by Mr. WEO
