I think Gragg is the upward mover of camp and the more they trot Mulligan out with the first team O the more I think he is a lock too as a specialist blocker. The question then becomes a place for Gray as a 4th guy or not?

Sal has mentioned that they have been using Gray a ton in different formations and he's a prototypical backup to Clay in the Hback role. I think he's the clear number 2 when you look at body of work despite his penalty, etc vs Cleveland. Edited by YoloinOhio

He is more versatile than Gragg or Mulligan that is true. I suppose it is a bit like the Hogan vs Goodwin debate. If Clay goes down who would be the best backup for him to play a lot of snaps - probably Gray. However, who is the best complimentary piece - probably Gragg. And I am all but certain they are keeping Mulligan at this point.

is Mulligan a lock as they think they can use the guy on the line if needed?

6th round picks are prime practice squad candidates. O'Leary needs time to figure out the NFL game, a year on the practice squad could do him good and then he can come into camp next year pushing for a spot. Good sign that the talent already on the roster made it hard for an incoming 6th round pick to get a spot.

From what I hear most of camp our TE's have been underwhelming , it sounds like O'Leary just isn't very good.

I am totally up for an NFL rule that allows teams to pass a few players right to the practice squad. I know this is not fair to the players but it would actually be better for many of them. With PS's now 10 players it would be nice to have 3 designated as something between PS and the active 53.

Doesn't matter anyway. Any team cam sign another team's PS player.
