dulles
Thanks for the report as always Astro. I was there today as well and thought as far as the QB's go, Taylor was most consistent and made the quickest decisions. EJ did some good things mixed with some late throws that hurt him, and Cassel had what I would guess (I've only been in attendance twice in camp this year) was by far his worst day of camp. He was just sooo off in team work and late in 7 on 7. Seemed like the wind affected him out there. I'm happy that Taylor is now unloading the ball on time which is something I did not see the 1st camp day I attended a couple weeks ago. Have to agree with your observation. I too was there and I was NOT impressed by Cassel at all. He was really off. He was even off on a throw over the "net" they set up while Carpenter practiced with the FG team. For those of you who haven't seen the drill...they have a large net that they setup up at deep LB level and the QBs throw to a stationary receiver over the net. It helps them practice those 15-25 yard passes between the LB level and the Safety level of the D. Everyone else was easily completing the throws that I saw. dulles
Astro, thanks for the report. I went to TC today and noticed a lot of what you wrote. For those of you who couldn't make it to camp, Astro's work is impressive. Without being prompted by what he wrote, i couldn't remember 1/10th of what he remembered and recounted for us. Kudos Astro. Here are a couple things I noticed from my vantage point... Hogan is a workout animal. By far, Hogan was working harder than the others on the sideline. Is he always like that or is he really pushing hard to earn a spot on this team? It's easy to see why he's a fan favorite. IK Enemkpali was getting work on kickoff coverage. Pretty intimidating to see a guy that size flying down the field! He also was getting work on punt return team as an edge rusher. The ST guys were giving him some specific instructions about where to line up etc. I think he's a lock to make the team and they are coaching him up for special teams purposes. It looked really hard for the offense to accomplish anything with all the missing skill players. It reminded me of our running problems vs. Cleveland. It looked like our starting D could have blown up every play. Saturday is going to be fun and Sept 13 can't come soon enough! I was glad I got to go to TC. My sons got some autographs from Richie Incognito and Tyrod Taylor. Upon our return home, my wife was listening as the boys described their autograph experience. She said, "Oh the bully and the QB!" The training camp fan experience is just one step in the right direction for one of my boys who is confused and roots for another team. I'm hopeful that a successful season might win him over so we can cheer on the Bills as a whole family.

dulles
So it was not a good throw? Gosh, this one throw is going to keep me awake tonight. Don't worry. You don't have to limit it to that one throw. There were plenty of ugly throws from this practice. The passing had the appearances of a 2-13 team entering the final weekend of the season, not the final practice of training camp.
OldTimer1960
Tyrod. I still say come September 13th it will be Tyrod. Maybe that's hope mixed with the eye test, but knowing Rex is a TT guy tells me regardless of Roman's alleged infatuation with Meh, it's Tyrod's job to lose. The weapons Tyrod brings are just too numerous to keep warming on the bench for a mediocre game manager. Yes, but his collegiate completion percentage of 57% ia a LOT lower than even EJ Manuel's. If Manuel is too inaccurate, what do yo expect from a player that completed 10 of 100 passes fewer than Manuel? Not saying Manuel is the guy, but just saying check your enthusiasm for Taylor. Saxum
One difference between this year and others is that there's no anticipation of picking up players cut by other teams. The Bills could go with the 53 listed here, plus or minus here or there, and have a very good squad overall, with some really strong positions. It's possible that a player cut elsewhere could catch on here, but it seems unlikely. Well unless it is one of the Jests Rex had a hand in drafting ... Mark Vader
Our problem is that the most consistent was Cassel, the most accurate was Cassel, the oldest is Cassel; the best QBR is Manuel, the most TDs is Manuel, the most dangerous is Tyrod, and the one Rex and fans like is Tyrod. Yes, the Goodwin pass was right on the money. The only bad thing is the Turk rolls through on my wife's birthday. Trying to get one of them to change dates. My guess as to what happens: QB- (3) Taylor starts Game 1 vs Colts, also keep Manuel, Cassel (Simms PS) RB/FB (5) McCoy, Jackson, Felton, Dixon, Karlos W. (Brown traded/cut) Unless Karlos goes to NFI or PUP TE: (5) Clay, Gragg, Gray, Mulligan, OLeary WR (6) Watkins, Woods, Harvin, Deonte Thompson, Easley, Thigpen (Andre Davis, Dez Lewis PS; Hogan Traded/Cut) LBs (6) Bradham, Brown, Lawson, Randell Johnson, Tony Steward (ILB/Mike), IK Enemkpali (Edge), ( Ladler PS) CB/S (10) Gilmore, Robey, Darby, Brooks, Butler, A. Williams, D. Williams, Graham, Rambo (Meeks or Cockrell Cut) O Line (7) Wood, Incognito, Miller, Henderson, Kouandjio, Urbik, Glenn. (Chandler PS, Richardson Cut) D Line (7) M. Williams, Kyle Williams, Jerry Hughes, Dareus, Alex Carrington, Red Bryant, Stefan Charles (Reed PS) Specialists: (3) Sanborn, Carpenter, Schmidt McKelvin PUP List PS: Cierre Wood RB Gaines LB Noel CB Andrew Hudson DE Ladler S Justin Hamilton DT Simms QB Andre Davis WR Dez Lewis WR O'Leary TE Cuts: Bronson Hill RB, Ricky Seale RB, Lankster CB, Groves LB, Buchanan DE, Kupper OG/OC, Campbell OG, Richardson OG, BJ Larsen DE, Fluellen DT, Tobais Palmer WR, Willis Austin WR You left out Jordan Gay. Do you think we will go with just one Kicker? Thanks for another great year of training camp reports, Astro. Your analysis is tops. Now go get to work on the 2016 NFL Draft, I want to know who we pick next year.
3rdand12
Thanks again for everything, Astro. You are like the first drink of water after crossing the desert. This is fine analogy indeed. Astro really does us well with his work. Nifty the folks he brings in to assist too. I honestly would prefer to read his work over the media , and its not even close. The details are so pleasant and make it personal. and reinforce our fandom. To The Bot; Fine work Brother! Thanks again from all of us! We appreciate you greatly Glad you were able to take advantage of the joint. ha ha!! Go Bills ! Edited August 26, 2015 by 3rdand12

dulles
Sounds like your boy needs some time with Ritchie and IK to get his head on straight. He was really impressed by Tyrod. He came over, gave him a high five and gave him an autograph. It was really cool. Richie was friendly too. He's working overtime to overcome his "bully" reputation. I'm glad the Bills are willing to give guys like RI a second (or third) chance. It was especially impressive because we weren't in any of the special areas - just average fans showing interest in the team. He's still your son? I'd rather bring him around slowly and have him be a fan for life, rather than force it on him only to have him relapse later in life.

Simplest solution to irrational fans who will be irrational no matter what happens - do something irrationally and trade him now and include the fans as part of the trade.
