26CornerBlitz Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 @JaySkursk Marcell Dareus had a veteran rest day and Aaron Williams left practice with "tightness" according to a #Bills spokesman. @TyDunne Per Ryan after practice, Dareus is "fine" and Aaron Williams (who left practice) is "tight." @SalSports EJ Manuel: "I love it here. I want to stay here."

GunnerBill Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 @salmaiorana Here's latest edition of SalSpeak. I picked my 53-man roster, based on what I've seen to date. Share your thoughts. https://soundcloud.com/sal-maiorana-bills/aug-23-heres-my-53-man-bills Sal M is not a million miles away from where I am in terms of final 53. I think he is a DB light but he was discounting Leodis who we now know will be good to be on the roster rather than PUP. One way they could keep 5 receivers plus Easley as a gunner and Thigpen as the return guy is to cut both Bryce Brown and Boobie Dixon. Conventional wisdom all summer has been 4RBs plus 1FB but is a 4th RB who doesn't dress more valuable on gameday than Thigpen? He has been forced into playing some running back in camp and pre-season and could do it in a pinch if you had a sudden slew of injuries. It would feel like throwing a lot of resources at special teams having two kickers a specialist return guy, a long snapper and a specialist gunner... but it would make the Bills special teams pretty formidable. There are going to be some really tough cuts - a far cry from Marrone's first year when Whaley had just taken over when I sat down to write up my final roster and only had 46 names on it of people I thought were NFL standard players (or brand new draft picks).

I disagree with him about Randall Johnson
GunnerBill Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Yea I would like Randall Johnson on there too ahead of Groves but Johnson was brutal against Cleveland lost lane discipline and contain in the running game on at least two occasions I spotted and looked vulnerable in coverage.

What I saw from Thigpen at RB against Cleveland did not inspire any confidence. I don't think he would serviceable. I think 1 FB and 4 RBs is necessary, and while he is our best punt returner, I think it is wiser to replace Thigpen at PR then try to put Thigpen at RB for any amount of time.

Saxum Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 From article: Asked if he’d give all three quarterbacks first-team reps against Pittsburgh, Ryan said he wouldn’t tip his hand “but you are very intelligent.”It could be a unique rotation Saturday at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Roman: So guys you know we are real short on players for scrimmage preseason game against Pittsburgh so I am envisioning an opening player with the three of you in a quarter circle formation in backfield and let the Steelers guess who will be getting the ball from center, who will be throwing, who may be running, etc. What do you think of this? Remember if you do not like the play it may be you standing on sideline during first series.... QBs: All at once - sure coach, whatever you want, whatever is good for the team ....
26CornerBlitz Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) Tyrod Taylor: "Taking it one rep at a time" (3:15) Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor talks about the shared reps during practice, his confidence in the wide receiver group, and the game planning for Pittsburgh. WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Hey, if we can get something for Thompson, I'm all for it. Whaley did a good job with mid-round picks this year, and realistically speaking, we're talking about a 5th or 6th string WR when everyone is healthy.
