North Korea on war footing

For those not paying attention: Joint military exercises with South Korea, the US, and a handful of other nations have been taking place this week. North Korea, in typical North Korea fashion, calls these exercises an act of war and threatens a retaliatory response. The US, South Korea, et al., respond as they typically do, by telling Kim Jong Un to eat his lima beans or he won't get dessert.

But the new twist is: North and South Korea have been skirmishing on the border the past week. Not a lot; a couple soldiers injured by land mines, some rifle fire, exchanges of artillery. But now...Kim Jong Un puts the DPRK military on a war footing, and tells them to be - and I quote - "fully battle ready to launch surprise operations" in the next 48 hours.

This development is somewhat outside the norm, and has the allied leadership shaking in fear. Or perhaps shaking from holding back their intense laughter. Yeah, probably that last. It's got to be very difficult to keep a straight face while composing a response to this newest provocation: "If you announce surprise operations, they're no longer a surprise. Now sit down and finish your lima beans."

Just to refresh my memory. NK was the last country signed a treaty with to stop their atomic weapon development and slow down their regional belligerence?

Buncha DPRK pussies. Lil' Kim should have stood up to Daddy (or Mommy, as the case may be) and launched his "surprise operations".

What could possibly go wrong for the North, with the US having an additional 80,000 or so troops in the area working with the entire South Korean military?!?
