Federal Bureau of Prisons had 88 email addresses, 52 belonged to the US Postal Service, and 45 to the Department of Homeland Security. Employees of the Social Security Administration (42 emails), the State Department (33) and the IRS (six) were also on the list. Canadian Bills Fan Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Wow. His list of turn ons are hilarious CBF
The Poojer Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 as much as i think sites like that are proof of the downfall of our society...i also think publishing the hacked information is just as bad... Government agencies are allowing access to these sites at work? Maybe Hillary was on to something. Granted they are just the email addresses...so i guess technically they didn't necessarily access the site at work, but damn...using a real email address for sites like that...hell i set up fake outlook accounts for Sirius every month.... The Poojer Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 yeah, didn't even consider that when i posted my comments. Fake email accounts are easy, fake credit cards payments aren't.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I read somewhere that the chief IT guy there said that the data that was leaked is phony. Probably just saying that to try and save face CBF
BuffalOhio Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 It amazes me that people are dumb enough to use their work email addresses for such a purpose. The real downfall of our society can be seen in how remarkably stupid people can be.
The Dean Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I read somewhere that the chief IT guy there said that the data that was leaked is phony. Well, clearly SOME of the data is real. There are legit questions about the extent of the leak. But for many of these people, if only the names were compromised, that's a big enough leak to do a lot of damage in their lives. http://krebsonsecurity.com/2015/08/was-the-ashley-madison-database-leaked/

The Poojer Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 fixed it for you.... If you're married and signing up on a cheating website, I'm guessing your life is already damaged a fair amount.
DC Tom Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 It's a great day for divorce lawyers. And hit men. Seriously...odds are at least one murder results from this.
Azalin Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 If you're married and signing up on a cheating website, I'm guessing your life is already damaged a fair amount. This
Maury Ballstein Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Who cares I say. Why does the company deserve to be shaken down by this "moral" hacker. Mind your business hacker. Sorry your girl cheated on you.
IDBillzFan Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 If you're married and signing up on a cheating website, I'm guessing your life is already damaged a fair amount. Absolutely. Last night wifey commented about the Duggar thing, and it makes for good media filler, but I think it may not be long before many people on this board know someone in their life whose info was released from that site. Why does the company deserve to be shaken down by this "moral" hacker.
NoSaint Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Probably just saying that to try and save face CBF at this point its probably darn near impossible to tell the real from phony. there are probably hundreds of "check your email address" sites just collecting emails for spam purposes. credit cards and billing much more likely legit though Edited August 20, 2015 by NoSaint
NoSaint Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 What I had read was that the credit card info was what led the company to think it was phony, because they claimed they didn't keep or collect credit car info. I am not sure how that would be the case, as I would think people would pay by credit card. i guess maybe its handled by a third party, and never actually touches their server? i dont know that stuff well though.
shrader Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 at this point its probably darn near impossible to tell the real from phony. there are probably hundreds of "check your email address" sites just collecting emails for spam purposes. credit cards and billing much more likely legit though My spam filter picks up random "is he cheating" emails from time to time. I'd imagine that is something that could easily be used for these purposes. I get a kick out of those emails because I'd love to know who this HE character is that is cheating on me. My wife would probably want to know too.
truth on hold Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 I read somewhere that the chief IT guy there said that the data that was leaked is phony.TORONTO (Reuters) - Emails sent by the founder of infidelity website AshleyMadison.com appear to have been exposed in a second, larger release of data stolen from its parent company, cyber security experts confirmed on Thursday. The data dump by hackers who have attacked the site appears to include email messages linked to Noel Biderman, founder and chief executive officer of its Toronto-based parent company Avid Life Media. In a message accompanying the release, the hackers said: "Hey Noel, you can admit it's real now." That appeared to be a riposte to the company's initial response to Tuesday's dump that the data may not be authentic. http://in.mobile.reuters.com/article/idINKCN0QP20K20150820?irpc=932
BUFFALOKIE Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I've heard of this Ashley Madison site before but since I'm not married I never thought about checking it out. Now I'm thinking I should have just posed as a married guy. what have I got to hide?
